Interesting feedback - this was actually a weird item to revamp, for exactly the reasons suggested here (the items being weird and fantastical enough to maybe have benefitted from keeping the oddball style they were in before, rather than pulling them back into less ridiculous territory)

We'll keep striving to improve on future revamps, sorry if this one was a disappointment!
