So for a long time now, the only vending machine you could get "rare" items from was Ocean Depths.

However, just now, I got 5 rare items from the Blue Sky vending machine. I haven't had an opportunity to check other vending machines yet, but is this a bug or intentional?

The cap on most machines is r75, so I think you can still get rares under that from non-OD vending machines.

- Really? I haven't gotten anything over R60 from vending in probably a year, with the exception being OD and the occasional "Game Prize" or "Collection Item".

Hm, now I'm worried I'm misremembering. Hopefully someone who vends more regularly knows for certain >_>

My recollection puts rarity at a 60 cap, too. Maybe it's been changed. It would be nice if it has.

Edit: 130+ vends got me nothing above normal rarity.

Edit 2: Maxed out at 250 vends and nothing above normal rarity.

Is vending even worth doing anymore? I heard from someone somewhere here that it got nerfed so badly it wasn't even worth bothering with no matter what machine was used.

It's okay for when new shop items are released, if you like trying to sell brand new items at a markup =|

- Thanks! That's what I thought the cap was as well. I didn't get anything above that cap from Grave Digger or Shining Crane, but to get 5 rares from Blue Moon was strange, I thought. I didn't get to any of the other machines due to time restrictions.

- Vending is pretty useless with the changes. The only reason I vend is for the top achievement tier and prize. Once I get that, I probably will stop vending completely.

i only ever vend from OD otherwise, so i cant give you a clear indication of what vending machine vends what. but i vended slightly over 150 items from Blue Moon a few minutes after looking through this board, and it already sprouted out over 10 rares (up to R70). i cant conclude anything from it because i didnt vend anywhere else, but looks like you CAN vend rares from Blue Moon.

(random info: if i'm not mistaken, Blue Moon has glitched before in the past, giving out items from collections / R110. make what you will of this!)

Yeah that's great and all if it ever works. I have restocked extremely new items like that but they never sell at such high prices and only end up selling when they deflate to normal prices around 30k or less.. I had this experience when all the butters were new. I was able to restock them pretty well but none sold till much later. x.x

I did it a bunch with the costume wigs from Grooming Parlor when those were new, and the batches of basic flats. Everything else seemed to be hit and miss =/

Some (if not all) vending machines have or used to have the opportunity to give out specific collection items. Not a glitch. c:

The rarity cap of Blue Moon was raised during Masquerade to get more masks out.

Blue moon was giving them out like hot cakes, though. It was definitely a glitch then. It's been fixed.

Oh, do you mean that time when it only gave out 12 or so different items and one was a collection item? I forgot about that. x)

Not everyone agrees on what 'worth doing' is, and also Achievements is why. It's been stated by staff that Vending is meant to be deemphasized as it results in gluts of 'junk' items. Me, I never minded the site when a lot of items were dirt cheap because it allowed deflationary policies, but this bugged a lot of users.

Now that legacy shops are no longer in play and the Crystal Shop and Recycle Shop are getting more love, this junkitem thing may not matter as much. Who knows maybe Vending will come back a little? This site is often changing and reinventing features.

Achievements and the costs/benefits of getting them have also changed over time. Quests have been revamped multiple times in the decade I've played here and getting the Achievements for them used to cost a lot of sP and now they don't and they cost time instead because you can only do ten. So the Vending Achievements now have a price, when they used to pay for themselves.

- Are the vending machines supposed to give out Genetech Combo items? I just got a "Nuclear Matter" from OD.
