with the emoji library we're using, we don't have a choice of what text-smilies turn in to what emojis. fwiw, i completely agree and i hate the :P so much you guys don't even know (or given this thread maybe you do haha)

at some point in the next few days, i'll take some time to see if i can find one that either lets us customize it or has better defaults.
