How about Yodinto?
African elephants are elephants of the genus Loxodonta. I think if you just mix the letters up a little, you can still have the essence of Shengui Guo while giving a throwback to the scientific name.

Not to be a party pooper, but those of you coming up with Japanese names for this pet do realize it's a Chinese-themed area it's from, right..? ;u;
Somniru(s) (lat. Somnium means dream, purus means pure) Somnium (lat. means dream) Yumo Yuno Yunbaku Yubaku Shuka Shuko Shukon

they used a few Japanese and Korean references too, so really it's just an "Asian" themed area.

jk I'm Chinese myself

Quipu just because I like name and history things. Nothing to do with the species or anything but are really cool.
From Wiki:Quipus, sometimes known as khipus or talking knots,[1] were recording devices historically used in the region of Andean South America.[2] A quipu usually consisted of colored, spun, and plied thread or strings made from cotton or camelid fiber. For the Inca, the system aided in collecting data and keeping records, ranging from monitoring tax obligations, properly collecting census records, calendrical information, and military organization.[3] The cords contained numeric and other values encoded by knots in a base ten positional system. A quipu could have only a few or up to 2,000 cords.[4] The configuration of the quipus have also been "compared to string mops."[5] Archaeological evidence has also shown a use of finely carved wood as a supplemental, and perhaps more sturdy, base on which the color-coordinated cords would be attached.[6] A relatively small number have survived.
Kenthea
Ken/Keen - one's range of knowledge or sight/quick to understand or function. Elephants are so wise, especially their emotional intelligence. I found a story here about their tusks being described as wisdom sticks that allow them to know the date and time of their own death. Thea - an ofshoot of the French word for tea. I was trying to use tess or tass from tassaeomancy ("A divination or fortune-telling method that interprets patterns in tea leaves, coffee grounds, or wine sediments." wikipedia)
Gabelle - sort of a mash of Ganesh, the ebb and flow of dreams, and elle just sounded ok at the end. It sounds like elephant though too?
Tapyura (Tah-P-Your-A)
A play on Tapir, which is the real-world equivalent of a Baku (The famous Chinese dream-eating spirit) and sakura, which (of course) Japanese for cherry blossom flowers.
That's my idea and I'm sticking to it. nodnod
