I will say that all prizes, other than top 25 for the Core (and top 10 per tier), are all damage-based. Rank has nothing to do with it.

Wow, worse than I thought on loss count. But I got the Leftover Hydragel + Hydragellos Essence [edit] I also got up to the Gelablob, with both T7s (but the second pet I only battled with once or twice by mistake, she did 2.6k damage)

I wonder how many cores actually went out. If people were thinking about prizes for being top in each tier, maybe someone would have grabbed up a weak pet from the adoption agency and done a little bit.
