Don't know if the Subeta Team's heard yet or is thinking about this, so I could be jumping the gun, so to speak, but today, we just found out that the artist known as "Prince" has died today.

I'm hoping that they'll do a remembrance item for him.

Here's a few of my suggestions: A Purple Rain Cloud wearable - Represents his album and song titled "Purple Rain". A Crying Dove Minion or wearable - Represents his song "When Doves Cry". A Raspberry Beret - Represents his song "Raspberry Beret". A Little Toy Red Corvette (or whatever it's called here in Subeta) - Represents his song "Little Red Corvette".

These are just some ideas I had for his most popular song. We already have some "1999" items in the form of the ones from the New Year's 1999 items, so that song doesn't need anything new.

Anyone else have any ideas for items that could be tribute items for Prince?

It's hardly been a day since this was announced. Give the artists time.

(Not to mention Chyna's death was overshadowed by Prince's).

And there's nothing wrong with making suggestions, no-one is saying MAKE IT NOW, just putting ideas out there. I'm sure if staff decide to release something for Prince it will be appreciated regardless of what the item is.

A purple rain cloud or something would be fitting, since I'm pretty sure that's what he's most well-known for and (almost) anyone would recognize.

Also I agree, nobody is asking for it to be made immediately, just suggesting things that could be made. Especially since Subeta is known to do special tribute items for things like this.

Why would Chyna not be suitable for a tribute item? You do realize she did more than porn, right?

I would love to see tributes for both, personally, but I'm sure someone is already working on something for Prince. There's so many ideas to choose from! Kinda like the purple rain idea the best, but I bet it'll be a dove.

I've seen that thread, and I agree with what Dannica said. However, that doesn't answer the question I asked, nor does it have anything to do with saying she's not a "suitable candidate".

I already assumed we wouldn't receive anything for her, TBH. But the implication that she isn't "suitable" for a tribute on Subeta because of what she chose to do later in her career is gross.

Though, I don't know if Chyna would be getting a tribute. I certainly wouldn't mind since I did know of her, but I can't think of anything that would be an appropriate memorial that would also make for an appropriate site item (and that's really the crux of this sort of thing.)

She may not be the best role model, though I'm sure we have tributes to other people who weren't good role models. I don't find it gross that someone doesn't respect her decisions and in turn doesn't find her worthy of a tribute. I don't think Subeta had much room for (award winning) pornstars. Do I think she's an awful person for doing porn though? No. Sure she did other things too (wrestling or something?) but her celebrity encompasses everything she has done.

not liking someone is not a burn :p I never really knew much of Prince's work and the stuff I do know I don't really like. I don't like wrestling either. and being dead doesn't make you off limits from criticism.

and that's cool. I can't say I was much of a David Bowie fan myself. But I also didn't go into a thread about David Bowie to let everyone know how not sad I was on the day he died.

Chyna impacted quite a few lives, actually. Not saying she needs a tribute item, just saying that just because you didn't know much of someone or not personally impacted by their contributions doesn't mean they aren't deserving.

That wasn't really my intent though, I wanted to support a purple cloud because of the stuff I do know of Prince, that's the first thing I remember. Plus I think it would make a good item in general.

I guess I just meant in the same way Prince or David Bowie or the Snape actor (can't remember his name atm) did. I'm sure she has her fans, but it's not the same scope. I wouldn't care if she did get a tribute, I'm more so defending 's opinion that she doesn't deserve one. I don't think every time a celebrity dies, we need a tribute.

If people want a Chyna tribute, nothing is stopping anyone from making another suggestion thread.

I thought this was just supposed to be about suggesting item tributes, not arguing who is more deserving of one. It's fine to have your own opinions of people, but this doesn't seem like the appropriate place to express them, honestly.

TBH I find tribute suggestion topics really tacky, 'cause one, other celebs that have passed whether or not they were lesser known (another example, Doris Day, Merle Haggard or Patty Duke), and another it just feels like, "Oh, someone famous died. What kind of free item can I get from this?"
