Can someone pretty please explain to me what exactly food day is about?
I mean, I know they're releasing a bunch of hard to get foods. And the (single???) food themed challenger. And there's something about pets being hungry faster?
And honestly, that's all I want the clarity on. Cibophobia didn't get any bonus hunger until after the staff set everyone to zero (including resort pets) a few minutes ago
Do I have to keep checking back? Is it going to reset every hour? I'm just hoping someone can tell me what's going on so I can like make a plan and do quests instead of just having this inventory full of food

I think food day is just a random themed day they decided to do, it's not like an annual thing if that's what you were wondering.
The pets getting hungry faster is just a new thing, but I'm not 100% sure if it's working correctly (except for the fix they just pushed, so we'll see). I don't think you get any bonus hunger as in x/15 instead of 10 or anything, it will just go down to 0 more quickly. I did see it mentioned that you have to check your foods eaten page for your pet for it to register in the system how much of a gourmand they are. I guess you could check every hour or so, I know before it used to go down a little bit every few hours maybe. I'm not sure what the new rate is.
We're doing a food day because users have requested and I to mess with the hunger for pets a few times. Recently, there were a few boards that were like "let's have a day where the hunger count doesn't matter i WNAT TO FEED ALL THE THINGS". We figured this would be a better route, and to kick it off we figured why not bring back a lot of old food items!
The change is to help those who have gourmand pets. The more unique foods you feed your pet, the quicker it'll get hungrier. We've been keeping an eye on the rate and what not, so we might have to change it again once or twice. Like Laurey said, check your food eaten page for your pet for this change to kick in for you! We set everyone's hunger level to 0 about 50 minutes ago (even those in resorts, but they quickly got fed again when it hit 5:00 because of the hourly cron) so they could get a kick start basically to feeding their pets. :)
What's the ... cutoff for that then? I mean Cibophobia is almost at 4k (3900) and he hasn't been hungry since the manual reset. Is there an event that pops up when he's ate enough to eat more?
