From what I understood from Keith's post, only shops and galleries are going to be limited.

As for quest items, you can try fragging the cheaper ones? Any items worth below 10k automatically get fragged to keep my shop from being cluttered. Hopefully it won't take long for them to raise the item limits so we can fit more into our shops.

mentioned here they are looking into a way to move items around more conveniently.

If anyone is gonna frag any item worth less than 10k where are we gonna get the items we need for the quests? That's my problem with this update, it's gonna hurt the economy cause clearly everyone is gonna do the same, so who's gonna sell the cheap items? =/

I'm a bit worried about that, too. Inflation is bound to happen if they don't increase the item limits in a timely enough manner. We'll just have to wait and see :(

1000 for basic accounts and 2000 for GAs seems much more reasonable to me... I'm feeling so discouraged right now, I thought about quitting for a while now and this might be the final nail in the coffin for me =/

I understand that you're very busy and people are asking a lot of questions, but mentioned something earlier that I am also concerned about. Would it be possible to transfer the total profits earned and shop till from our current shops to the shops in the new system? Some of us have been working on the Shop Till Saver and Making a Living achievements for years, and if we knew we wouldn't lose our progress on these, I think it may help some of us feel a little better about the change. Maybe being able to transfer the profit & till from our highest earning shop into a new shop? It seems like there should be a relatively easy solution to resolve this issue... but I'm not a website developer, so I can't be sure. It'd be great for us to get some feedback from you or another staff member regarding this. Thanks.

If it helps, they said, 'We anticipate being able to raise these limits significantly...' It's really just a matter of when they will be raised, so you don't have to worry too much about being stuck with such low limits forever.

I don't rant often...but this time I feel like I have to.

I'm just sitting here hoping and praying that all the negative backlash is taken into account and this is somehow stopped from happening. I've been here for 8 and 1/2 years and no move EVER has made me this upset and hopeless. I have so many items in my account that I can't even begin to keep track and to think they are are supposed to be shoved in my vault now because I can't display them or sell them without them piling up because I will not be able to afford a GA every time I run out...it's upsetting.

I didn't make a minion gallery with 2.5k minions, I didn't spend all that SP and CSC JUST to stick everything I accumulated into a vault where no one will get to see what I worked hard on and built. What's the point now? There is none.

What point is there to a pet site if we can't sell items to make a profit to knock things off our WLs? Display items? Collect items? Just earn SP and keep it all? For what? I thought that was the big thing that everyone wanted to discourage from happening?

This move has completely blindsided me.

What are we supposed to do when we can't sell items fast enough and they pile up? And our inventories are full? And then we run out of room in our shops with this ridiculous limit? Or when the vaults crash from us putting things in them to try and hold onto them for when there may once again be space in our shops? What are we supposed to do? Donate everything? Delete everything we worked to obtain JUST to free up some space until the next short time it runs out again? I do quests, I do them every day and I obtain 250 items in a few days. I cannot, and I repeat, I CANNOT afford to buy a GA every time it runs out. I'm the type that cashes in my loyalty totem ONCE a year to auto-price so what am I gonna do now? Hand price everything, every day? Or like I said earlier, delete it all just because I need room to FUNCTION on the site?

I just cannot wrap my head around this plan at all.

And now that there are limits...what's next? Limits on the wardrobe? The wardrobe where I have over 10k items and counting that I absolutely LOVE and have worked so hard to get?

To be brutally honest, part of my doesn't even want to stick around and find out.

Two of the biggest pull factors of this site to me have ALWAYS been ONE the thin line between the "Gold account" and "Reg accounts" which made everything seem obtainable with a little work and FAIR unlike other sites that I quit when I came here and TWO the staff's empathy and understanding of their user-base and their feelings/what mattered to them. I can't help but feel betrayed on both counts after this latest announcement.

[1st post attempt too big; srry for some shorthand.]

Absolutely crushed. Initial "WHAT NO WHY HOW" faded. Sinking unpleasantness inside, resignation, bewilderment, remain. IDK how to react "appropriately."

I play games (literally, all games) for item collection. Not necessarily all items, but. Always some sort of theme. All else is secondary; spins out from the joy in collecting. Characters (or pets, as w/pet sites) are shaped around it.

Even have multiple collections IRL.

Online collections always a fantastic outlet--ever since 1st pet site, and 1st video games, as a tween. Subeta not any different. Get to be a kid again.

After news, I thought ab all the time spent getting galleries up, and filling up. Ab matching pets and pet names and TCs just so. (Arrange for mood, palette, shape, wordplay. For main theme as much as sub themes.) Thought ab all the sP. Ab the RL $$ spent.

I'm v sad. And lost. Can't see reason to keep playing (or paying: whether in spoons, time, or wallet).

Questions thought ab:

  • Why continue w/quests? Where'd put quest rewards? Already'll need severely downsize current stprage. (Had more planned. Not likely, now, OR later.)

  • Why make more pets/work on existing ones? 18 pets already. All unfinished. Two new pets waiting to be added to roster. Names, items, concepts, TCs, themes, galleries, all planned out. Even finished 300 mil savings goal other night: everything to get started on 19 + 20 (especially pet, TC, and gallery slots). Won't be able to go through w/that.

  • Why keep RSing? No room soon, even to fund purchases. Gotta make room. Not even covering all good points brought up elsewhere RE: pricing, monitoring, keeping track of split-up shops.

  • Where to put anything now? Won't use vault for room--items just forgotten ab. If galleries/TCs have organisation and loading and search issues, vault's an utter nightmare. And--sorry, but frankly? Vault's accessed as often as galleries and shops and searches. Use mine so much every day for quests, TC roulette, more quests, events, present surprises, general storage, SubQ RS/invites, NFS items that MIGHT JUST NEED LATER. (Who knows what new event/holiday/crystal shop RS will lead to needing.)

Hate using vault even as I use it, bc of how it works. Wouldn't EVER want to put galleries in on top of that mess. Don't even want to contemplate # items in it already, bf shoving 8k items in.

And ultimately: can't share vault, either.

[Granted: even galleries aren't infallible. Lot of room for improvement. Want the site to see those improvements. Just saying: galleries filled important role, for lack of options. Now option's being gutted, and new options worse than old.]

  • What ab holidays/events/games/fragging/etc.? Won't have as many items on hand for w/e's needed. Won't be RSing as much to fill up items on hand for w/e's needed. (Or for making currency to fund what's needed). Won't be questing as much bc no room in shop/galleries to keep for collection or sale or other quests or... And if not questing as much, certainly not getting any "Freebie" event/holiday items that way, either.

Cutting back activity will drastically reduce REs all around. Means less cool site stuff: Tempest, Lizard Minions, Battle, random TC/stat +, Oracle quests... Less currency/items gained to purchase OTHER items from said events/holidays.

Cutting back means drastic reductions in other site areas. (Less checking out e.g. SubQ/BHH.)

  • Why play in spaces like Garden?

  • Why check out new/er stuff (e.g. recently-opened Shengui Guo? Heck, why bother making new pet coming out for Shengui?)

  • Why battle? Or train for battle? Why play in Alchemy shop? Scroll shop? Genetech? Etc.

All answers come back to: IDK. No room, no room, no room. Items play such a heavy part.

Site needs space. But I need space too. Site encourages gathering of items from micro to macro. Changes strip away too much of the ability to do it.

IDK where stats went to view items currently owned, but AFA galleries go, I've got 8k+ items total. + lengthy wishlists worked on for well over a year now. All WIP; probably wouldn't ever be truly "finished," but still good. Goals.

Supposed to now stop collecting and pare down so I can keep playing the rest of the site. Supposed to shove things in a vault. I reject this.

Gonna be 30 this year. Just pixels. Yet I kinda feel like crying inside, a little. This site and goals I've worked on have given me a lot of happiness and kept me going during a lot of physical difficulties. These have let me live a childhood I didn't really get to have. Even met so many fantastic people bc of this site.

Gotta be a better way to fix the root issue. Gotta be better compromise, better answer than, "increase later, everything's fine, stop worrying."

Many others pointed out: not exactly best track record for other features being worked on. Even then--how much is increase really gonna be? Can't ever end up enough, w/frequency of item introduction.

Site needs more space, less hoards. Only three logical, immediate reaction/conclusions:

  • Less items should come in. (Hah, no.)

  • Collect less. (Why play then?)

  • Maybe site doesn't need me--or those like me--then?

W/e case: feel like I'm essentially being told I need to give everything up in the meantime (or indefinitely, or permanently).

Don't want to. I understand ya'll think these're good reasons behind ya'll deciding to do what you're doing--but the implementation sucks.

Feels punishing. For liking collections and for doing what this site has encouraged for even longer than I've been around to play.

I feel punished for playing.

IDK how to make it better.

The thing that right now seems to be my utmost concern is, that for every item I want to dump in my shops several times per day, that either I have the same unique item in each of these shops (thus wasting precious space and time pricing) or I need to check for every single item, where and if I already have it stocked. That's NOT an option!!!

I have horrific envisions of how this will impact the whole economy and thus the game altogether in a disastrous way. Tons of other related areas need to be adapted accordingly - has thought been put into this? I see havoc and am frustrated already now.

Also: this is a site about fictional items. And I guess, apart from battling and wardrobe this is, what you do on this game: collect items and raise money to collect more. And this sole means is being abolished?!?

...and Subeta: YOU are the one pushing out more and more items on a weekly basis. Tons of new items.

...???...

I've been playing and then having spurts of time where I don't and effectively wasting some GA time then coming back and getting another GA. My interest has always been doing quests and vending and then autopricing in my shop trying to see how much SP I can earn. I don't do all that much collecting. Even so, my shop tends to sit at almost 2000 items in it at any one time. I'm definitely going to see less incentive to play with these changes. These limits effectively sound like they'll be making questing more cost prohibitive and selling more difficult.

If I was a big collector, I'd be even more upset. This game, by nature has encouraged collecting, implementing many paid for collections that it has profited off of, etc. It is a big blow to go in the opposite direction now.

What what? I never heard of this vending machines being killed? Or this vaults being removed O_O

I mean are they planning to remove half the site? :o

That 'have X items' sounds like a good idea actually XD If you exclude the wardrobe. And besides you'd end up regretting having gotten rid of items that are suddenly sold for 1m in the MC because they introduced baking and the prices went COMPLETELY crazy.

Had a new thought about this.

Shops:

A 2.5k/5k limit for non-GA/GA users.

I see this as pretty reasonable for a shop for now. Maybe higher depending on how many shop users tend to have more than that on a regular basis. shrugs

Galleries:

10/15k limit for non-GA/GA users.

Reason I say this is the gallery owners are the ones having the biggest problem right now, many of them are collectors and trying to get a themed gallery accomplished (or just collect for the sake of it). Another way to help solve this is maybe, like with Plushies, Beanbags, Trading Cards, ect. make a book, minion, and food collection set. Many people seem to like to collect them. This gives them a way to do it without server strain and if they want doubles or something, they could put them into a gallery or vault.

A friend of mine said with 80,000+ items on the site, not collecting them makes having that many a bit useless. So, why not make sure they can continue doing that but spread out a bit and give them enough room to make themed/specific galleries. I also thought that upping the limit every mile stone (example would be with a 10k shop, every 10k items added a new shop can be created) would still allow for collectors to collect but spread out a lot easier.

Just a thought, probably wouldn't work much but it's something. XD

@blackwolf_2009 2.5k unique in shops is reasonable. A lot of people work like me: don't have a regular GA so accumulate items in the shop, BUY a GA which costs MONEY, autoprice for a week to make sp/get rid of items, then start cycle again.

2.5k unique items allows us to continue using the site.

Yeah, even after questing for a week I tend to not have that many items stuck into my shop at any given time. For the RSers that will be a big issue but if they separate the shops and gallery limits, give autopricing to once per shop per day, it's not going to be /that bad/ over all.

The limit is so low it's physically painful to think about.

I have just over 3k items(about 2.5k unique) in my shop and that's just because I've been questing without a GA to price up the crud I get from it. When I have a GA, I usually end up with around 1000 items in my shop at any one time. I don't generally vend or sell a lot of items from events. And yet even my bare-bones minimum is 4 times the limit without a GA (which I rarely have).

With this limit, my worry is nobody will sell cheap items as they don't have the room. This will inflate the price and make quests more difficult to complete. If there are rare, expensive items that people are trying to save up for that are only being sold in inactive user shops, these will be removed from sale after the old shops are disabled and then they will be increasingly difficult to get.

And I'm not sure why galleries need to have a limit at all? They're rarely viewed outside of the people that own them. It'll probably to put just as much strain on the site to have all of those items moved to the user's vault S:

Mostly there are a lot of things about this proposed change that stress me out to the point of giving me a headache. I honestly wouldn't have minded as much if the proposed limit was at least realistic. And I mean realistic for non-GA users, having a GA should be a nice perk, not a necessity.

I have to buy GAs with sP. With the cost of CSC gift cards these days, a week GA with a 500 unique item limit in my shop is unlikely to earn me my sP outlay back let alone get me a profit. I'm am old age pensioner with arthritis so hand pricing even 250 unique items is impossible for me now.

If I want to earn sP by doing quests I'll end up with item prizes. These will have to go into my vault until November when I can get a 3 month free GA from a loyalty box.

Hmm.... I'm reserving judgement for the most part. We all knew the achievements were due for the chop, and something came up about imposing limits a while ago, so it's not much of a surprise. I know that the initial limit is only for testing, so I'll see what it end up being before I start spitting (if it's less than 5000 for non-GA, I'll be very disappointed, but that's just me). There are a few things I'm a little concerned about:

  • It's extremely annoying that everything has to be manually moved to the new system. I can appreciate that transferring to the new system seamlessly probably isn't possible, but this is such a pain! It's not even the moving I mind, but the re-pricing. I'm bringing this on myself by preferring to hand-price, but that's going to take forever.

  • There's a lot of focus on the limit of the number of items in shops/galleries, but is the number of shops/galleries likely to rise? I have a nice little 3 shop and 1 gallery system going, and I'm going to have the worst time choosing one to can if I'm only allowed three total.

  • The effect on the economy/item prices is also a little concerning, but at this stage I can't call how it'll end up. One week of overlap between the new shops going fully live and the old ones being discontinued isn't a lot of time, especially considering how long it will take to re-establish shops and prices, although I can appreciate that it won't help the site to have two shop systems running simultaneously for much longer than that.
