I'm not exactly sure why food is okay to be wearable but books aren't, since they both serve a collection purpose. I thought the reason books didn't become wearable was because it made them too expensive. either way, that's just how it is now.

So...I found Amazing Afghan Patterns in my reader pet's TC since it's only a wearable item but I'd assumed it was a book and hadn't been paying attention to what I clicked.

It IS a wearable, and the note at the top says that wearables will not be made readable or whatever. But...the thing is literally a book, there are other books like it that are readable (other knitting/crafts pattern books), and there are other wearable books. Although I suppose there's also an achievement for having all the latter so I guess it'd make sense wanting to avoid more wearable readables.

That said I only got the thing because I thought it was a book :P Which isn't a huge deal, but it just appears so much so to be a book that it surprised me when it wasn't, hence my saying something despite Amber's quoted note in the OP. (I also wish crocheting got some love but that's a different personal problem XD)

all of the books that are wearable are quite old. anything more recent that is wearable - even items that look exactly like books - won't be readable :)

in the future if you want to double check if something is a book or not, go here and type the exact name into the search at the top. if under "Uses" it says Book, then it is a book xD

...but new books come out all the time, even purchasable from the book nook? Or did you mean readable/wearable books only are all very old? (Not meaning to argue about the readability of Amazing Afghans, I'm just now confused about your first sentence.)

yeah that is what I meant. let me edit that post to say wearable xD whoops, my mistake.

instead of removing the reading option of the older wearable books which would mess lots up because some people read them, but people in the future couldn't, they left them and just set a rule for the future. I think it's because books already have a good amount of use, giving them another use as a wearable drives their prices too high. idk, that's just been the rule for awhile now so we kinda have to stick to it.

It makes sense. If it's a situation where the foot has been put down for future use, that's something I can respect. I do see if it's a limited-time book/wearable, the fact that reading it consumes it does do interesting things to scarcity. XD i can see that in my straining to get the last couple of books for the originally mentioned achievement, heh, and in the fact that I won't be releasing a lot of them back to the market when I finally get them all...because I'll read them to my pet. So the rule does make sense. I'll just keep that in mind next time :)

but "Termite Baby Bear Food" is at the subetalodge list edible and wearable !!!!! i just bought it and now i see that it only has a "wardrobe option" but i cannot feed it :( !!!
