EDIT: I've been so touched by all of you who took time to read and to share your stories. I laughed and smiled and even teared up as I read some of them. Subeta has so many wonderful people and amazing stories. Many masquerades ago, a yearling subetan ventured into the forums for one of the first times and got up enough courage to post in search of a dance partner. What she ended up with was making some of her first Subeta Friends. Through all the ups and downs in her "real life", she had subeta to come to for unwinding, for laughing, and she could always count on someone or something to brighten up even the dreariest days.

Years have past, and now that Subeta is an old, veteran subetan who loves events, and all her many friends who still make her laugh, help her unwind and brighten up all the dreary days. And now she wants to hear about other subeta friends and family.

Of course, I'm talking about me. Subeta has been a good place for me, and I'm really grateful for my friends here! I've been shown a lot of love by friends and anonymous people who I wish I could hug. I'd like to pass some of that love on this week.

Like you I had a friend that I made from an event. It was the first and only Battle of the Bands. I was scared to post and no bands seemed to really fit what I wanted to do. We were a steampunk band and it ended up being really awesome. We have been friends ever since. Nominating:

Since I first tried to make more out of my pets than just names I lie with pretty colours she has helped be fleshing out their stories and has been a source of great inspiration when it comes to pets. Plus her own pets are marvelous and each spotloght is well deserved. Therefore I nominate: , the Queen of Snails :)

I nominate my dear daughter , who is never embarrassed to call me her friend besides her mother. Love her to death and beyond. She guides me through all things on Subeta. Without her network of Subeta friends I wouldn't have any- as her friends are my friends too.

I wish we could have more than 10 pings.....I would ping everyone. My ladies...love you!! They are my online family. They make my time spent on subeta awesome. Plus they are just all lovely lovely ladies. squishes them all

My start on Subeta was during one of the darkest moments in my life. I had sat by for a couple years watching my ex play on Subeta...Sometimes during events if he was at work, he would ask me to randomly check and dance or kiss someone. I found it fun. BUT never started my own account because he always told me that there was a rule somewhere (I think it exists) about having 2 accounts from the same IP or something. He was afraid it would look like one person having 2 accounts. SO I sat and watched from the sidelines. Then the relationship ended horribly. Even if we weren't in the best place with each other, some respect should have been given and he could have waited a few more days before marrying someone that he had been cheating on me with for 6 months. (BTW I have seen her...the Ugly Tree was not kind at all...she hit every branch on way to the ground...seriously if you are going to cheat...pick someone better looking. Im not saying I am hot by any means...but really.)

SO that night as I sat in an empty apartment preparing to move out myself, I started an account on Subeta with my phone. Sure he had his own account on here, but didn't mean I had to deal with him (by the way I have a few times...its hard but I handled it). Now trying to play via my phone was tough. SO next day I went to Craigslist and found a $150 laptop for sale. SURE I needed that money for other things, BUT I needed a computer. So I bought it (I WAYYYYYYY overpaid. I really should have thought more about it instead of rushing into it). And I have been on Subeta 4 years this past Morostide. From having watched my ex I knew roughly what to do on here so I wasn't a full noob. I joined ASP (he is a member as well, BUT he never talks and rarely participates in anything). And according to my friend list @ FancyNancy was my first friend made on here. Now Moro is the holiday of Trick or Treating and I became stalked. This Rollie Pollie @ Tea_Roll kept knocking on my door and stickering me. I couldn't shake her. I am thinking she is part cat or something and just kept coming back. So that was my start on Subeta. NOW 4 years later I have lots of friends that from here that are super special to me. I know I can shoot @ Queenbee a text whenever I need help crocheting or an "ear" to be lended when things are down. I can count on @ TerrenaAnimula to help keep cake away from @ Fresh so he doesn't turn into a gremlin. @ Witchy for keeping the fashion world guessing on how many wardrobe changes she is going to make in a day. @ Habeebi for being tossed from windows and fed to sharks. @ Flamingo my feathered friend that hides in the rafters that I miss so much being around like she use to be. for forcing me to make CWs and her enjoyment of sexy men photos. for making things fun and knowing how to keep the closet door closed from our dear lovely . for still showing up even tho the site drives her crazy with glitches and keeping her pillow pet safe from me (although a shoe incident caused her to become a ghost...but she is happy about it). The trying to sneak photos of in his cage. and knowing that there is a fast food joint out there with a creeper waiting to stare at her. If I ever need battle advice is always ready to share his knowledge. And for letting me put body parts in jars and keeping them...minus her attempt to get Habeebi to steal it back for her. Tsk tsk. for some great conversations about random anythings. And you my and trying to keep CWs out of your hands. Don't think I forgot.

I am sure I forgot people...There LOTS of people that I have talked to befriended and enjoy talking too. (And WOW think this is the longest post I have made in a long long time esp with pinging so many names)

I would also like to nominate , not just to return the favor, but because I love our conversations. Even though I often feel that I am not an interesting person and that it must not be comfortable to talk to someone so awkward, I really appreciate that she continues to be a good friend. :)

What makes Subeta special for me is the community. I don't venture out much to chat to people, but the community still continues to amaze me with such amazingly wonderful surprises, like the time someone sent me a generous gift and very sweet message because I mentioned I was going through a very difficult time in real life, or that time someone sent me a gift and kind message because I was sick. And so many others, which I'm not comfortable posting because they seem a little bit more personal.

I also really enjoy having a creative outlet. I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Panic Disorder, and that means I spend a lot of time at home. It's great being able to fill my days with avatar creation, or the occasional pet customization (although it has been awhile since I contributed to my pet designs and stories), and being able to browse and enjoy everyone else's beautiful avatars and pets as well. It's very exciting to feel like the sky is the limit here on Subeta, especially with CWs.

It's also fantastic to be able to immortalize and honor real life pets on Subeta - I'm currently working on building up the TCs (slowly) of my cats and one of my dogs (the other dog's name is taken and I haven't found a suitable substitute for his name yet), because I can't always spoil them in real life.

Hey there! glomps This is awesome of you, and I'm glad you took that big first step onto the forums, or we might have never met~

I think should be nominated because she is just plain amazing. She's run Wayward Squirrel (as well as Nutsy's) the past three years, and she just does so much to make sure participants have a great time. WS, despite not being an official Subeta event, is one of the things I look forward to most on here. Not to mention she's straight up awesome, and a total doll.

my story begins many moons ago… Okay, eight years ago if you want to be technical. :P I joined when I was getting fed up with another petsite and their way of doing things. I really didn't want to give up my virtual pet love so when I came across Subeta via a web search, I joined. After I joined I asked many friends to follow, some of which barely play to this day but the few that still remain are and (though I think she was here already).

Subeta was here for me when I cared for my grandparents. Those years and the years that followed were some of the hardest times for me. I had and along with a few others I can't quite squish into this post. I am so thankful for all of my friends on subeta. And honestly, I'd like to nominate my entire friends list and then some. Because everyone I have encountered for the most part has become a part of my daily life just about. ❤

We grew apart for a while but that happens in many friendships, thankfully we are close again. We don't talk as much as we used to, but again you are an old friend and when we do talk, it's as if no time has passed between our conversations! - We both have the same weird and sometimes creepy as hell sense of humor and we both enjoy creeping people out with it.
