I usually check it once every day or two. If it's over 5mil I empty it and put 5mil (or multiple of 5mil if 10m+) into my vault. Any leftover change is my spending money :)

Usually when I have a couple mill in there, though lately I've been trying to ignore it.

when I remember. I tend to forget to clear them for weeks, but it's usually after 1-3 million have accumulated in them.

I'm trying to get the Shop Till achievement right now, so I'm letting it sit and accumulate. I've still got another 200 mil to go, so it might be a while. Once I'm finished with it, though, I think I'll check it once a month or so and treat myself a bit with some of the income I've earned through it.

I have to admit that I usually don't check my shop till for months. Definitely over 4-5 months.
