sighs That Fantine hates me I tell ya, there's no other reason for the onslaught of burnt food.. but at least we now know what can be baked at level 7 =)

I think I'll wait for the prices of things to settle down to. but I might just have to work out a WL spot for ingredients needed for later time.

I am stubborn and in no hurry for the baking so I've just been gathering ingredients from the donation center/RSing as I can and lying in wait. Still no full recipes for me yet, but I'll get there someday XD Good luck to all chasing them! I don't have my ingredients conveniently set aside, but I'm willing to part with my spares if anyone is having trouble gathering them. They're in my hoard though I don't know how cooperative it will be to look through.

Heh. Because I love to torture myself (and I saw a comment about how people are gonna whine about burning things because they want everything their way that I really reeeeeeally wanted to reply to but decided to let it go) I tried to figure out my numbers in this insanity.

My generalized amount for burning to successful rate is 63% 76 attempts 28 burned / 48 successful

The exp % drops like a rock after you master the item's level as well as the higher you level up, the more it drops - for example:

Level 0 successfully making a batch of maple leaf cookies gets you 25% exp

Level 7 successfully making Blueberry Floral Pie gets you 5% exp, Apple Spice Cake 6% (burn the cake 0%, burn the pie 2%) Successfully making level 6 Salted Chocolate Caramel Thumbprint Cookies is only good for 4%

Like I just told Cie, at this rate it's going to take an almost stupid long time to get them all unlocked but I'm gonna do it, no way Im stopping now.

Because I haven't baked anything all I knew was that if you burn stuff sometimes you have to replace Fantine's equipment. I find myself tickled that burned food is something you get, and you can make your pet eat the burned items. Burned Pie and Bread is expensive! Prokes is going to have to wait until he can get is pseudopods around those. (She's still convinced that Rock Salt and Star Fruit Fish are gonna be eat-able by her somedays and she had them stashed in her TC until they do and occasionally takes a sneaky lick, so hope springs eternal)

It really was. I couldn’t figure out why something that filled the progress bar 12% at level 2 only filled it 3% at level 7.

I had asked about what I'd been noticing on the baker thread where Lirikai and kbbob helped me understand:

The records I have show the % of exp plummeting as my level increases. Same thing, different way of looking at it basically but their way makes more sense. BUT! Even if there's no way to predict what it will take to fill the progress bar after all the copying this crap religiously and forgetting to save an entire day's progress I may have actually figured out how this whole thing works.

Burning an Apple Apple Pie (level 3) as I reached the end of level 7 was my Ah-HA! moment. I think this entire thing is based on a set success ratio.

To understand how I came up with the success ratio number everything I've kept track of yesterday/today is under the spoiler but you'll have to speak "Laurs".. so here's a crash course:

Enjoy Pumpkin Crumb Cake You are 57% of the way (6%) / 53

Success - item name - percentage on progress bar after item is finished - (% difference between this items progress and item prior) /total # successful

Burned Apple Spice Cake You are 57% of the way (0%) 29 / 53

Fail - item name - percentage on progress bar after item is finished - (% difference between this items progress and item prior) total # fails / total # successful

Yesterday I did a detailed item count that I'm confident can't be off by more than 2, maybe 3 burned items at the most. My first estimate came to 63% success rate. The second one I did this afternoon came to 62.7. Tonight it's a little low so I should go on a success streak soon.

From what I understand the exp is based on time it takes to make them but I don't think that's all there is to it. The help section says we're less likely to burn lower level items. But if that were the case, the apple apple pie should have been a given success. I think it's a set ratio that I accidentally stumbled upon tracking my fail/succeed count. ... Not that it matters, lol! I've committed myself to figuring out every level necessary for the items we make. Proof positive that be this is a fools venture by gawd I am that fool!

I'll keep right on spending virtual coin, refreshing shops that never seem to stock sticks of butter and canola oil and listening to the little clicks on my timer until I've successfully figured them out and made at least 1 of everything for the Lady to eat.

Was it worth the thousands and thousands of points, countless hours restocking and what seemed like non-stop frustration and aggravation? Depends on who ya ask I suppose. Most people would say of course not, unless you're me xD

Congrats! I'm still on the first item, with a ratio of 3 successful and one burned. I'm in no great hurry on it since there doesn't seem to be an achievement for it.
