The rarities were lowered for some of the specific items that are used frequently. Future baked goods we add will use different oils, etc. :) We tried to vary things where we could! You can currently restock almost all of the ingredients. The only ones you can't come from the space tree on Atebus, which you'll just have to visit every day for the berry you need. You can also try your hand at vending the different ingredients. The Donation Center is being stocked randomly for the first few days. :)

No, they're pretty lowered at the moment! I edited my post a bit to include the fact you can vend a lot of these items (I believe the Celebration machine gives you Food Market items). In general though, once people start moving up the levels I think prices will start to even out. Right now everyone is making the same batch of cookies, which is why I've adjusted the burning chance a tad bit (in the users favor) while keeping an eye on everything :)

There are over 30k items in the donation center, there is no way you’ve been through all of them to know if they’re all gone or not ;) Like I said, we’re going to be replenishing the DC over the next few days while things settle out, especially for the items to start restocking a bit more (since their rarities have been messed with it’ll take a bit for them to really start restocking).

It’s not even been 24 hours, try not to worry too much. <3 Everyone is currently rushing to get the same item done (which our next batch of new baked goods will include another level 1 item), I truly believe it'll calm down some once people get on different levels and the "newness" of the feature wears off; it helps that I've been adjusting the burning chance levels as the night goes on based on feedback I've been getting.

That's one of the things we're looking into, the no exp on burned items. I don't want to make it super easy to advance levels when you've burned something, so we're looking into giving a small amount of xp with each burning. Def something that'll have to wait until normal people are away (aka rest of staff haha).

Actually we were planning on giving one more round of them as a free gift later in the day (for people that wanted a copy for their treasure chests etc). That's a good idea too, though!

You'd run into the same problem though having so many items you can substitute. They'd all get purchased pretty fast. There are just some items we can't avoid using again, but in the case of oils/chocolates/etc, we'll be doing our best to use different things. We've got more items planned to go out through this feature, so soon there will be a lot of things with a lot more choices for items used. :) I still don't think it's much to worry about because soon a lot of the items will restock, you can vend them, I'm sure the Food Market will be used as the Mystery Box once or twice in the next month etc etc.

It shows a drop down of items that fit it! Like the 'nut' category has I think 8-9 things you could use? Milk has a few and eggs have a few!

The recipes will be sticking around and we'll be adding new ones throughout the year (ideally, each holiday will get a few themed items and some for each month in general; I can see it being a lot easier for some holidays for ideas over others).

I'm going to talk to Grace about adding a level thing on hovers for Alchemy and this (I don't know how easy/hard it'd be atm so it's something I need to look into <3).

The Vanilla beans are used in other recipes! Anything in the donation center that’s been donated by Liz is used in some sort of recipe. When we get more base ingredients on site (like some of the wonderful salt suggestions), we’ll adjust recipes accordingly. :) And yeah, I think the prices will stabilize soon enough. she is on the map! There will be more recipes, including some level 1s, soon. I spread them out for the initial release so people wouldn’t get them all done quickly and have nothing left to complete, to be honest. You can always wait until we add more recipes or just suck it up and make a few maple cookies (and force feed them to your pets like I did :x).

We're not going to be adding more to the donation center. There are already a lot of items in there + we added the bag to the Millionaire Center. All of these items are lower rarity so they can restock and you can vend them. Today also happens to be Food Market for the Mystery Box!

Again, I think it'll all calm down soon. Yes, vanilla extract is used in a few recipes. I've already posted (I think in the news comments) that the new recipes won't be requiring a lot of the same items (obviously butter and salt will come in to play). So these are really the only recipes for a while that'll need vanilla extract. I don't want to add more "general" categories until we get more items (like more types of salt), like I kind of hate that flour only has two items haha. I do want to add more substitutions in the future though!

We're not going to add making ingredients at this time, because it'd basically be the same problem users are having right now. People would buy up all the ingredients and you'd have to wait to restock them haha.

No one said it won't be a free gift at some point. If anything, I've posted that I want to do it as a free gift at some point. :P

We have some good achievements planned for it! We figured putting them right out at the start might actually make the prices even crazier off the bat, so we held them back for a bit. I plan on doing some cool ones for like get to x level (with GREAT BAKING FORUM TITLES). Baking Bad, anyone?

I'll look into this. :) As far as the burning ratio, as it's been stated: you're current level stuff is meant to be a challenge, so you shouldn't be surprised to burn a thing or two. Once you get higher up, doing things from previous levels = less likely to burn things.

We can look into doing those things in the future! We didn't want to over-complicate things right at the start, haha. I mean I've messed up a new recipe before (and in this case, we're kind of using the "burning" as messed up), never as bad as salt over sugar haha. Burning things just give the opportunity for you to have to replace different things from Fantine's kitchen (like cookie sheets, oven mitts, etc), we wanted to give those items a use outside of TCs for pets!
