Ace smiled at Magnus and nodded as he watched the group form, throwing the quaffle. Ace stood back at first, letting the others get their rhythm and trying to see if there was a trick to the hand-eye coordination, knowing he'd over throw it the minute he tried. He noticed the other guy from his house also stood back with him. Giving a head jerk he tried to catch the boy's attention. "Hey man, seen you around but never caught your name. I'm Ace," he said, "Reckon we should get in on this exercise?"
Eros let his arms fall to his side, his face barely giving any kind of reaction when Ace spoke to him, even though he wasn't expecting anyone to talk to him. Eros turned his head slightly, but not enough to look at the other guy directly. Instead, he kept his attention on the game of catch. He preferred the mindless catching exercise over socializing. "Eros Sigurd," the young man replied coldly. As for Ace's question about participating, Eros took his time answering, letting a quarter minute pass before doing so.
"They were talking about beating some Bludgers," he said, not even looking towards the students he was referring to. "I'd be more eager to be one of those Bludgers right now, mate." He wasn't totally against the idea either however lame and simple it was. It beats just standing around. He would join if the Quaffle came his way, but he wasn't going to beckon for it. Of course, Eros didn't say any of that. ()
Aderyn caught the ball easily as Ernessa tossed it and she turned to face , passing on the ball.
"Heads up!"
She lobbed it at her friend and smiled.
Gaia caught the quaffle with ease and looked around at the group she tossed it towards the Slytherin kid she didn't know () "HERE! Catch!"
Eros captured the ball with both his hands when it got tossed at him. For a brief moment, he looked at the girl who had passed the Quaffle his way, but he quickly turned his attention to the guy next to him. "Go long, mate," he casually instructed Ace (). Eros, too, backed up to widen the distance between himself and the other boy. When there was a good several meters between them, he launched the ball towards Ace.
Ace was taken aback by Eros' less than wholehearted reply, but chalked it up to his interest in the practice down the pitch. He smiled when Eos caught the quaffle and gladly jogged backward to catch the soaring red ball. Unfortunately, catch it he did not. Stumbling in his attempt to create distance, Ace landed flat on his back, the quaffle landing solidly to the ground close to his left shoulder.
Laughing, he got up with as much grace as he could muster and hoped his face wasn't too red. "Nice throw, poor attempt at catching. Luckily for Slytherin, I'm not on the house team!"
Ace picked up the quaffle and looked at the others, deciding to lob it back to Eros so he could brush off his backside and save what little face was possible at that point by not throwing like a girl to those further away.
Eros watched as Ace stumbled, but looked away before the guy hit the ground. Eros didn't care to witness Ace's embarrassing moment. Not because he would feel bad, just cause he didn't care. It was no big deal to Eros. At least, as long as this wasn't an actual practice for a real game. However, he looked back at other male Slytherin when he attempted to make light of the situation.
Eros caught the Quaffle that was thrown back his way. As quick as it landed in his hand, it was just as quick to leave. "Think fast. Your ball." Without giving it much thought, he swung and fired the Quaffle hard and straight at another random student (). Eros didn't even make eye contact. He didn't really need to.
Magnus caught the ball easily and then threw it to Aderyn He walked over to the other boys present and smiled. "'Ullo, I'm Magnus." He extended his hand at the slightly put out looking boy who was also older than he was. "Nice to see some boys 'ere. I swear there's so many girls at 'Ogwarts. Of course don't bother me cos I'm a ladies man but still."
Aderyn caught the toss from Magnus, swiveling around a bit to take a look at those in the circle a moment before tossing the quaffle back at Beth ()
"Catch!"
Another student had walked over to introduce himself, much to the disinterest of Eros. He let his eyes fall down to the hand that had been extended towards him before looking back up and and away, his gaze back to the Quaffle that was getting tossed around. Eros didn't do handshakes. In fact, he avoided unnecessary physical contact altogether. "Eros Sigurd," the Slytherin responded. Of course, other than giving Magnus his name in return, he didn't really care for the chatter. "Ripper, mate," Eros replied half-heartedly as he wasn't really even listening.()
All right then. Eros didn't seem keen on interacting at all. For a moment his hand hung in the air as he dumbly waited--finally dropping it. Clearly the bloke wasn't interested at all. Shrugging, Magnus simply left and went back to the main group.
((ooc: Happy birthday))
Beth fumbled, barely catching the Quaffle. "Caught it!" She looked around the circle, deciding who to throw the Quaffle to. "Quick! Catch it!" Beth told Lyn (), who was standing across from her.
(OOC: 🎂 HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🎂 :) )
Ace jogged to catch up to Magnus, feeling bad he'd now left his hanging twice. "Hey man, I'm Ace," he said, proffering his hand. "I do enjoy the witch to wizard ratio here, myself. But sometimes, you just have to hang out with the dudes. Nice to meetcha!" He smiled and watched the ball soar from the one of the Ravenclaw girls to the Gryffindor one. "Also, where're you from? That accent is bloody brilliant, and I'll have to plan to go there sometime."
"Quick! Catch it!" Lyn caught the ball with an oomph. Fixing her grip on the ball, she lifted the Quaffle into the air with one hand and made a long, hard toss at Ernessa (). Grimacing after realizing she overshot, she quickly shouted "Heads up, Ernessa!"
"'Ello there, Ace," he said suddenly feeling less like a pariah and shaking hands. "We've sure got some pretty laides 'ere, don't we? Tis a Cockney accent mate, I'm from the streets o' London. You should've 'eard me the other day, all me 'th' sounds became 'f's been awhile since I'd done that. Was livin' in a muggle orphanage till I go attacked just after me ninth birfday by a werewolf. Where you from?"
Ernessa had been day dreaming when she heard Lyn yell heads up, she turned to look and yelped when she saw the quaffle heading straight for her face. She ducked and the quaffle landed on the ground. 'Oops' she smirked, picked it up and threw it to
Gaia caught the quaffle in the air walked over to Magnus () and high five him "I think you have excellent hands, pup!" Shooting a side glance at the Slytherin boy (); looking up Gaia saw Aderyn () and smile wickedly "GO HIGH!" Gaia tossed the ball high into the sky.
"Speaking 'o pretty laidies," he said, "thanks. I reckon you're better cos you can see who its going too. Now if we can only use your powers for good... like 'elping get the answers for me Astronomy 'omework."
Eros folded his arms across his chest, catching the girl's glance. The fifteen year old rolled his eyes at her need to make Magnus feel better with her random comment. Excellent hands? What did that even mean? Based on what were they 'excellent'? Were they aesthetically pleasing to her? Eros finally looked in Magnus' direction. "I apologize, Magnus. You do have excellent hands. In fact, too excellent to shake. Your friend is right, she seems to have an appreciative eye for hands." () Though he spoke calmly, his words were full of sarcasm. "What is she? A chiromancer?," he scoffed. He didn't talk directly to her or even look her way. ()
Magnus growled at the boy. It was getting close to the full moon. "No need to be like that. You don't want to talk to people, fine. We ain't gonna talk to you. But you don't gotta be a jerk about it. She ain't done nofing to you. Nor 'ave I, but that can change." His eyes flickered yellow for just a second.
