Hi guys, so last year Masquerade began on the 20th of March and it's safe to assume that it will at least start in the next couple of days, so just so we're on the same page, who wants to do the threads? I know that some of you expressed interest before but things might have changed? Anyway just let us all know here and if multiple people have time in the next few days (you won't have to be around all the time but maybe on the first day to get things going c: ) you can message each other and see what you come up with? There's loads of ideas in this thread so you can use those c: If nobody else who wants to do it is available I will at least start the dance with the user above one as soon as we can dance so we can all do it as much as possible. I think that's the most "urgent" one anyway xD

I won't be able to do much for any threads. :( But I can still find away to help

That would be great ;x; I think all of the ideas are worth giving a shot, if any of them don't work out as well, we can either leave them or improve them next year c: I put down four ideas in the first post but I'm not sure if I missed any :x

- I will go ahead and set up the dance with the person above thread and then ping everyone once the event gets going. I was looking at the other ideas, and I think the first one about dancing with a specific person might be a bit hard to implement. For the dancing with inactive people thread, I know we will probably do that anyway, but I definitely think that we need a list of people. I was kind of thinking that maybe the Phantom idea could be done for the inactive people as well so they don't feel left out. That might mean assigning active people another active person AND an inactive person to gift, but I don't know if everyone is up for that.

I can't wait c: As for dancing with a specific person, I thought it could be a really simple thing like coming on and saying something like "I'll be around for two hours and I need a dancing partner" and then someone else who's around just dances with them? In my mind that's easier than the claim one because all you have to do is refresh the link every few minutes if that makes any sense. It might not work out after all but we'll only know if we try. I know said something about a list and system for it but that's too much for me to process lol ;v;
EDIT: Oh and the Phantom thing, I do think we should include inactive people, definitely. I'd be up for that for sure. It doesn't have to be every single member getting two people thought, it can just be those who have enough sp/time?

- Ahhh, that would make sense for the specific person dancing thread. The first person would probably need to use the group ping in order to alert others that they are around and find a dance partner (unless someone wants to keep refreshing, which is fine). And as for the Phantom thing, I think it's definitely doable if people sign up and specify they want to just be paired with an active person or also with an inactive person.

Edit: Omg my heart nearly jumped out of my chest when I saw there was a news update. I was like "But I'm not done with the thread yet!!!" And then it turned out to be something other than Masquerade lol.

- I made the thread, which is here! You're right that it would be too many pings. I'm thinking it might be easier to say "I will dance with ______ for x number of dances" instead of the number of hours (since the time between dances varies), but I don't know if that would work since people might not be able to give the same number of dances back right away. I'm at a loss for that one :(.

If no one else wants to run the Phantom thread, I will give it a shot. I've just been having such bad luck with migraines that I don't want to add on too much more stuff to take care of.

I was saying to to have a thing where you give a flower to the user above and each time you do so allows you one entry for a prize of your choice! Then a random generator is used to pick a winner :)! So for example, if I entered 8 times for one item, my name is put into the generator 8 times, then a winner is chosen? :)! If someone claims and never gives the flower, their entry is removed :)!

I know in past Vesnali(s) I tend to use the "Send Five Flowers to User Above" threads, which I think would work fine for our little group. I find the send a flower to the user above threads too time consuming, but if you do many more than five flowers at a time it can be easy to lose track of the count. The single flower threads can help rack up forum tickets/points but are quite time consuming. You're probably going to wind up with more flowers faster than you think so being able to move through groups of them at a time can be much more efficient. Also with a "Send Five Flowers to the User Above" thread you know you'll give equal to what you get, so if you're like me and don't know how much time you can spend online for any given day you don't have to worry about short changing a partner like in a dedicated partner thread. And if we set up a send x number of flowers to the person above thread for the group we don't need to worry about being skipped or anything like sometimes happens in the main holiday thread. I don't know, that's just how I feel about it.

- I was talking with Merlin in the chat thread, and I realized that we probably needed something like she set up for the dancing where it was the "Dance with _______" links for everyone. I searched around and found the "Give ______ a flower" links (since there's no scode shortcut for it yet and may not have a button for giving flowers), and I have a Word document with everyone's links saved for when the event starts. I could start a thread with those links at the top so it's easier to get to everyone.

As for what I've liked during Vesnali in the past, I'm also one of those "Send Five/Send Ten Flowers to the person above you" people, but I get SO angry when people just don't send the flowers to me after I've sent them to someone else. I like the idea of being able to send x number of flowers to ______ because it helps build up the Vesnali coins faster.

Pengy had a great idea about a giveaway with entries based on how many flowers you give to someone else (I know she was talking about it in her post). I have a few things I'd like to donate to a giveaway. Not sure how much of a "run this thread" kind of person I can be, but the event doesn't last long, so maybe? Sorry I can't muster a clear answer right now :(.

What about combing Lady's idea and mine :D! So like if you sent the person above 5 flowers or even 10 flowers you get one entry for a prize :)? It would make it less time consuming and then you know each time you enter you'll get 5 flowers. It would solve all the issues about sending one flower at a time :D!

Yes please that sounds great! I liked your last general info sort of thread for Masq where everything you needed or needed to know was in one place. I agree I can't stand when people skip you, it's just not fair. I was on those kind of threads a lot during Lumi and realised I may have been skipped a ton cause something didn't add up haha (doesn't help that you can't even SEE if someone gifted you). I think the giveaway sounds great and if you wanna do it that would be neato burrito :33 Also If we combined it wouldn't like every person have to send a prize to someone who claimed them? or do you mean by sending flowers to anyone they get an entry?
