I AM A RIVER OTTER UNTIL WE GET ONTRA LIFELIKE DOLLS.
then i will be 15 shades of river otters. you're welcome
Okay, I really wasn't sure. (I stand by my opinion on huge unusable bases, though :P)
He's not a real zombie. Just some mascot in facepaint.
I'll write that down with the rest of the conspiracies. We just need the truth about Elsie now. And Jelly World.
I have to say I was a bit disappointed with Bright Bite because it didn't fit the base at all. I loved the luminous green so I went for it... but the fact it's practically unworkable with all the clothes on the site really takes away from it. Doom Bloom and Barnankles work because they play on the base, but I really don't get what I'm supposed to do with the Bright.
Ok, maybe I'm in the very very little minority here, but I actually enjoy a challenge with building my HAs. I've for the most part, successfully worn the Bright Bite skin, Fungus, and other hard to work with skins like (seriously, YOU try covering those green eyes.) The only zombie skin I'll probably never use is Barnankles, and that's only because you can see the actual base skin underneath it. They're probably not 10/10 material, but I enjoy the challenge of making HAs with zombie, or zapper skins for that matter, and I'll figure out a way around the misshapen bumps ^_^ So I don't really care how fancy they get.
Next year's challenge: BUBBLE JELLY. Bring it, yo. I'mma make the sexiest HA out of you.
I agree with wanting more infections that stay within the lines, and with wanting at least one cute one per year, especially now that Sweetheart pets are part of Survival. I'd define "cute" as viruses like Love Bug, Naughty Nip, Pinkie Patch, and maybe Freckle Fever.
I also really like the more "artsy" infections... hard to define, but the ones that have something pretty along with the horror. Like Butterfly Bruise, Blistered Hearts, Crackhead, and Dolly Dreadful.
It might just be nostalgia for my first Survival, but I've always thought the 2012 viruses were especially well-done. Apart from Baker's Kiss :P I've collected half of them now, I think.
This year's glowing fungus was so disappointing, the HA just looked like a blob in the end :( I feel like none of the most recent viruses have lived up to the standard of the old ones. Maybe there are only so many good viruses that can be made, I dunno.
Baker's Kiss was awesome, and is probably my favorite infection I don't have. IT'S JUST SO HARD TO FIND BAKER BITERS BECAUSE EVERYONE HEALED SO QUICKLY FROM IT. WHY.
Well, I'm glad you like it! :D It furthers my point that the 2012 viruses were super cool. For me, it's just too blobby, reminds me of the glowing fungus from this year, except not as bad. But there is something creative about the concept, the execution just failed for me personally.
HEY, I LIKE GLOWING FUNGUS TOO.
I think this one was victim of people's expectations. People expected something elegant, something that's closer to bio luminescence, but it ended up going in something completely different, and I like it! It's bright, bold.
However, I'm going to say that like most of the 2016 stages, stage 7 > stage 8. I don't think there is a single final stage that wowed me, while I would use all four stages 7.
I really don't think expecting to be able to actually wear clothing on a HA base is a crazy expectation. Its not the users fault we want to use the bases as, well, bases.
I loved the whole theme and the gist of all the viruses this year but I can't see myself making it a priority to get any of them. Maybe I'll get Doom Bloom eventually, since it can at least wear clothing, but my favorites are just unusable. Stage 5 Blood Rush is amazing (and I was SO pumped to see a mushroom strain) so if we ever get the pre-stages somehow I'll go for it, but I'd never be able to use Stage 8 in anything. I can't say I'm big on any of the Bright Bite stages but if it was a usable base I'd adore it.
It goes to show that a variety of virus types is good then! Elegant, cute, lumpy - something for everyone. :D You're right, it was a victim of my expectations for sure, because I wanted something minimal. I do like bold, but not that particular kind of bold. More of a minimal bold.
