We don't have many things representing the century all that well like phonographs, telegram machines and telephones, and the early types of animation and film projectors.

The phones would be home-y backdrops, each representing a different deco style appropriate to that kind of room. The phonographs could be wears with song titles representing some bangly thing to dance with like flaps for flapper dress or big dangly arm bangles or earrings. The projectors could either be a sequence of similar things in the backdrop or frame like around the "dialog" scenes in silent movies or could show a piano or theramin as a foreground item.

We are missing many of the mechanical dressups and many of the things we have are cogwork, but how about some piping and some steam coming out from stuff? There are some Steamworks pets that have smoke effects and steam effects. Jetpacky sorta things and or controlled flames like bunsen burners also handy. The item images for these could be a whole array of tools both of the period or modern in type. (but in period style, like nowadays you can get keyboards that look all the world like wooden typewriters)

Chainsaws.

On that theme many cogwork and hydraulic systems also used chains (similar to a bicycle's drive chain or sash chain for weight-driven upanddown windows) and wide belts linked together with almost zipperlike metal meshes in between each piece. So far we haven't run thematically with any of those things.

For the lounge, I was just looking for fruit and yogurt parfaits and realized there were basically none. +with honey, +layered, etc.

I also 150% agree with tea cups and tea sets. Also, perhaps some loose leaf teas?

+Lilac wine? This might be more appropriate for vesnali but hey, it's alcohol? +Pomegranate Spritzers +pomegranate frozen ice/italian ice

and I don't know what these drinks are but they're pretty

How about some chunky boots like these but with some fur trimmings. Also just more chunky high heels in general would be amazing.

Maybe dresses with a sillhoete like this but in bright colours with fur trimmings or lace.

Oh and one last thing, separate left and right horns. I can't tell you the ammount of times I've really wanted to wear horns with certain hair styles and the left looks great but the right can't be layered right QnQ I found these wire horns which I'm sure someone on here would make them look amazing too.

Top hats with goggles on them tbh hell more hats in general. ( I can give tons of links when I'm not mobile if anyone wants examples ;) )

dreads. (Preferably not JUST the usual pulled back/tied back or undercut styles, pls (I would love you forever if they came in white too) tend to be rather popular hairstyle in regards to steampunk stuff! That and we just need more locs on site anyway.

Belts, belts, and more belts. Gear makeup/face paint. Mask-like facepaint. Spg inspired makeup, the list goes on!

Cameo jewelry, Curly hair, messy hair Foreground overlays like more corsets, there's never enough corsets Phonographs! Old / cracked things like dolls, photos, etc. Dresses with big bustles, or high/ low dresses/skirts

I did love those Art nouveau style wigs, maybe more art nouveau style stuff? Treasure planet has a bit of a steam punk-y vibe to it, and in places so does Atlantis(and even the not so steampunk style parts for diversity's sake maybe?) I wouldn't be opposed to those being referenced either :p

TC fodder wise: hair could be bundles of something! Dresses could be on mannequins, or dolls, or represented by something to do with the pattern/ cut of them, portraits too, if there's a background of a Victorian house / the inside of one, its item image could be an antique doll house! :p

there's probably even more ideas rattling around in my head but these are just what came to mind first

I love to see more humanoid mechanical robots/ automatons/ clockwork figures. There was all that business with Isaac Yun years ago, and it somehow never got more reflected in other aspects of masquerade.

It's also be more fun so see more wearable metal body parts and/or clothing. We already have things like , and , but it's be great to expand on those, with more robotic/steam powered body parts and clothing made of solid metal, possibly even wigs.

More non-alcoholic drinks. Simple glasses of wine or liquor, not mixed drinks. Alternately, simple mixed drinks made with more exotic real world alcohols: sake/rice wine, jenever, etc. pulp's idea for Art Nouveau. Non British influences: Chinese, African. Expanded list of Steamwork pets: Bumbus, Celinox, etc. Reintroduce old restockable masks to Migrating Masks: Black and White Harlequin Eye Mask for example.

EDITED: Because I just now noticed that the site auto-edited um, "rooster" tails.

For those of you wanting more tools/machine parts - can you list some specifics? As someone who's not particularly mechanically inclined myself it would be very helpful to have names to google rather than just "tools".

I'm not all mechanically inclined myself but some tools/mechanical stuff/ more technical useful stuff down that road ive seen while looking up steampunk; Hand drills wrenches caged lights vintage calipers / outside calipers ball peen hammers Volt meters like this Toolbelts with a more steampunk style, it can just have generic tools like hammers and screwdrivers goggles with magnifying glasses

theres probably more but that more or less covers what ive been seeing :O

My dream is a steampunk mad science laboratory background. And maybe some old-school labcoats to wear with it. Like this style, but not so cheap Halloween-costume-y.

Also, I'd like to second everything said and 's request for more replacement body parts. I can never have enough robot limbs and facial features.

Here are some names to google,

screwdrivers, open-end wrenches box-end wrenches, lavvy wrench, monkey wrench, philips-head thompson-head and hex-head screwdrivers, allen wrenches, drill motors, hammerdrills, masonry drill bits, wood drill bits, spade bits, jigsaws, reciprocating saws (sawzall), rotary (skil) saws, hacksaws, chainsaws of different sizes, belt sanders, disc sanders, rasps, caulking guns, nail gun, staple gun, there's a whole array of chisels (a good start is the wikipedia article)

All by themselves these aren't too punky, although Subeta doesn't have too many of these to start with. To make them all masqueradey you'd have to add completely unnecessary features like: excess or loose wiring, hoses, gears, steam or smoke coming out of odd corners, embed crystals, make them with massively oversizing, and electric arcs (like tesla coil or jacobs ladder). Steampunk conventions websites tend to have photos of what folks have already done along those lines as parts of their costume.

I know we have a few metal ingots on-site, but I'd love some more! More raw metals would be nice, too -- we have a bunch of like... Iron Ore, Gold Ore, etc... so maybe refined ore? Processed ore? I feel like this stuff could be relevant if the right metals were picked, since all this steampunk stuff has to be made outta something ;)

What the Masquerade needs is more oxygen masks, especially if they have oxygen tanks attached. Some examples: I love this one, especially if it has a tank - and in black! This one is pretty original! :) And this one is pretty cool!

I'd also like to suggest some Victorian dresses with a gothic touch, like this one, especially in black or purple. Or this one, full of frills and laces. Or this other one, made with tulle. :)

[edit]I've also found a very lovely dress that could be included in the Menagerie. Here's the front view, and here's the back view. Looks lovely, doesn't it?

How about a themed ball instead of a generic Masquerade? The discovery of Shengui Guo, or perhaps Calvin could decide he needs to be glorified.

Accessories as both hand held clothing and toys: Fans, snuff boxes, lorgnettes, sashes.

Home decor as toys/items/clothing: Some suggestions.

I know there's a whole thread for recolors, but since this is relevant and time is getting closer, more recolors of the buttoned half jackets, please!

Specifically, I'd love a nice solid red, and white could be good too.

(edit I don't know what's up the blue one that it's saying the item doesn't exist I am looking at it in my wardrobe I don't see any typos it is there it exists)

What about some mathematician/logician items? Books, research notes, machines, bistables and logic circuits. Some ideas:

turing machine bistable more turing intriguing notes

We can get super creative too and make some wearables out of logic gates. The AND could be a skirt, the NOT could be a cape/caplet, and no idea for the OR, maybe a mask or some kind of accesory.

I'd love some art nouveau backgrounds for sure!! And I know they're slightly more modern, but how about a nixie tube clock? Zoetropes, Praxinoscopes, Zoopraxiscopes? I saw someone suggest a gramophone, I'd love some records to go along with it w Ornate metal corsets would be a huge want as well!
