I love love love the color. Wish it wasn't a color-fill though because water/oceanic based pets would have been awesome.

I actually adore colorfills. If anything, I'm glad it's not a repose because the art on reposes is all over the place, and most of them aren't really my cup of tea.

y'know it's funny... years ago i had an antlephore named "teal deer" (a joke on the term tl;dr, i planned on filling her tc with really long books) but since there was no teal color i had to make an overlay... i eventually gave up on the pet tho because i just wasn't feeling it that strongly. but it's funny, now here we have an actual teal color...

anyway, it is a gorgeous color, though i may be biased since aqua/turquoise/teal is my favorite color. however i also agree that some of the pets look a bit flat/monochrome, with no variance in hue aside from the green eyes. for instance, compare the dusk legeica to the aqua legeica:

the dusk legeica is blue, yes, but it has variance between the shades of blue. it's not just the same blue made darker or lighter or more or less saturated; the main blue leans slightly towards the green range (while still being solidly blue, kind of cerulean actually), the scales are distinctly blue-green, and the mane is a deep, rich sapphire blue. meanwhile the aqua one looks like the color picker barely moved on the color wheel at all; i think maybe if the scales/hooves were that lovely chartreuse of the eyes, and the mane was pushed a little closer towards either the blue or the green range to differentiate its hue from the main body color, it would look a lot more dynamic and interesting.

idk, it's a great color but, again, some of the pets don't look as amazing as they could imo.

Does the Hippotu have an artist currently, does anyone know? I really would like an aqua Hippotu.

I was on mobile, and could't confirm, but yeah, the Nostalgic Hipottu came out really recently(less than a month ago!), it's safe to say NK is still the artist for that species, and that there could be an Aqua Hipottu any time soon

Anywho, I like the new color, but I love the color turquoise though and Aqua reminds me of cerulean/turquoise color wise.

The Dusk blue has always made me think of pthalo blue which is the generic blue given in paint sets to artists or if not technical, primary blue.

The swampie's dusk color fill has to be revamped though since color wise it actually pretty closely resembles the current Aqua though.

Same thing as the Tigrean and Cadogre when Cherry came out, we'll probably get a different shade for the Aqua Lain.

The Cherry Cadogre and Tigrean are much darker than other Cherry pets.

I don't mind colourfills (Cherry and Silver were great), but I was hoping Aqua would be a water recolour of Reborn... like how Harvest is the autumn version of Glade. It would use the Reborn pose, but in this teal colour, with the fire replaced by water.

I kind of agree on the flatness of most Aqua pets though. I wish more than the eyes were the bright green. Most pets only use one shade of teal/turquoise/whatever you call this colour. I wish there were more hue variance rather than just saturation/brightness changes.

I'm curious what the Aqua Lain will look like, hopefully not the same as common Lain but with green eyes instead. The Keeto is also teal in common. Tutani and Malarchy are sort of teal in their common as well.

tbh i think the aqua lain will probably be a lighter/brighter shade of teal, and slightly more bluish (the common lain leans more towards green than aqua pets do). now the keeto is very close to aqua, but again, it'd probably be made brighter and the tones changed a bit. (and anyway, i'm pretty sure the keeto is due for a revamp, and i think it's still waiting on a new artist?)
