I feel like Discovery and related channels aren't as reputable as they used to be anyway. When I was a kid, I used to watch them all the time for their interesting educational shows. Now it's a lot of reality TV crap.
I agree with you about that. Naked and Afraid literally makes me cringe. 8| Animal Planet is the exact same way, it used to actually be about animals and learning about them. And now... what? I'm really wondering what half the shows on there even have to do with animals. I really don't care about humans building treehouses/pools/fishtanks, living in the woods, finding bigfoot and making vodka in alaska. I'm really confused as to why these shows are on that channel. x_X
Ratings, I guess. I've never really watched any of those because that's not what I care about. Mythbusters was pretty good before the big reality kick, I think it dwindled a bit when they were running low on stuff to test. But that used to be one of my favorites.
I remember the old shows on animal planet like Crocodile Hunter and Most Extreme whatevers. Even history channel isn't as good now. Mysteries at the Museum and related shows are kind of interesting, but there's all that other stuff about aliens and conspiracy theories and stuff. Like I just want to learn some cool stuff about history, not listen to people talking about questionable "evidence."
Busy busy! Glad you stopped in though! Yay for artist alley... I have that next month myself, very much looking forward to it. I love conventions... ^_^
Ahhh... yes, the constant back and forth drives me crazy too... I stopped watching... Discovery Channel should be about education not sensationalizing and scaring people. Animal Planet used to be awesome but now it's meh... We stopped paying for cable and just have netflix now.
they have to add more tv shows regular citizen like to tune in or they won't enough viewers. it is sad that educational channels are becoming reality tv that are not related to the channel, but they had to do to survive. i used to be excited watching all the educational channels for the education, but i don't think they made much of that lately. they just recycle old stuff. but NatGeo People has a lot of shows about food and dog whisperer, which is nice. i like their stuff.
what convention, will be doing Kitsune Kon and Geek.kon here was invited to another but not sure I am up to it with both jobs and no time.
Genki is in July (Copenhagen) then we have a break to stock up for Comic Con Copenhagen in September. ^_^
Very cool, wish you luck at your conventions as well. I really should get my procrastinating butt working on stuff.
This new quest-a-thon looks amazing. Bummed I'll be away this weekend, but I'll do my best to quest when I can! Early morning flight on Friday, but I may wake up earlier than I need to to get the quests out of the way... Decisions decisions :)
HRG YES QUEST-A-THON. YES YES YES. OMG YES.
Yay quests!
We succeeded last time, we should be able to do it again! :)
Ooh I wonder if there will be a new title and another pet slot awarded!?! I need another spot... NEED it! ^_^
Yep, there will be!
Awesome, I was too excited and skimmed it... lol...
Haha, no problem! Other people in the news comments were doing the same thing, so you're not the only one. :P
I just hope we'll be able to get enough people online, but there is usually a lot of excitement for pet slots.
Hmmm does anyone remember if they were going to move our lifetime shop earnings to our highest earning new shop still? I can't even see my lifetime earnings on my old one any more... I was close to the 1B mark...
No, they don't transfer directly to your new shop. But for the achievement, it should add the amount you had from your old shop to the highest earnings amount from your new shop(s). You can view the "Edit Shop" page of whatever shop you've made the most in to have the achievement amount updated.
I like this new pet slot idea for questathons - want more of them!
I hate how the stereotype is that dolphins are good and sharks are evil, when dolphins are so smart that they have the capacity for evil but sharks are simple fish who can only be true neutral, so even if a minority of dolphins are evil there are still more evil dolphins than sharks.
I don't know if I'd necessarily call those dolphins "evil." More like conniving, but it's all a matter of semantics. You're 100% correct about the sharks though. They can't fight their nature. They're just trying to survive out there. They're an apex predator that humans keep exploiting. Poor big toothy fishes... they're so misunderstood <3
