Yeah that's true! If they keep this as a permanent thing, and cycle through some old challengers every month that would be great!
I'm getting close to T10, so after maybe a couple more tiers and saving up for some better weapons, hopefully I'll be strong enough to beat some of the tough ones.
it's a monthly thing though which will bring continued attention to battling. a mix of new and old loot plus restatted challengers... sounds great to me :P
It seems like a win for everyone. Battlers get a little something to look forward to each month, and non-battlers get the benefit of increased supply of some of the old, retired items that were previously difficult to find/afford.
yeah even a lot of the battlers don't have access to the loot because they either used it or sold it or weren't strong enough yet or just missed out. so it's wins all around
That's true! I'm glad they're doing something like this.
I'm still curious to see what else is coming over the summer, even if it's a lot of little things. So far it's been interesting with the new pet species and now this.
hopefully an event, not a full out plot (at least one with a boss) but some event.
Yeah that's kind of what I'm hoping for too, but we'll see. We had the mini-plot last summer, so maybe they'll do another event more along the lines of the cruise or Peka-boo. Who knows ~
I think the plot last summer was as big as our plots have been in awhile, I wouldn't call it a mini plot. I'm hoping for something like those too
Hmm, good point.
They haven't done the Epicon thing in a while, although I'm not sure if they said that they wouldn't be doing those anymore.
Well I know they said they wouldn't be doing the reading drives anymore, and I'm assuming they won't be doing too many item drive type things in general anymore. If they want to discourage hoarding, they need to stop rewarding it.
But I think with the last epicon, the points came mostly from playing games every day and stuff. That wouldn't be too bad I guess, or they could have other quests or something for us to do.
well we had the snowman thing = item drive. the pick a cub color = item drive. it seems they really like item drives. I agree, they need to stop rewarding it.
game and stuff daily isn't bad, I would much prefer that to another snowman thing.
The snowman contest was the last big one, and from some of the backlash and drama that resulted with that I don't think they'll be doing too much more of that.
The item drive for the cub color was more for fun. There wasn't much incentive to donate more than one item unless you really cared about what color the cub ended up being. The forum title was for participation only, there were no teams or anything.
But I would rather see less of that sort of thing and more games or other stuff that is more dependent on your own skill and participation and not "who has the most items"
ehhhh I don't see them stopping item drives.
it was better but I think it could have been set up more fairly, some colors had thousands of items to choose from, some had maybe a hundred. I think that affected the results. I just don't find donating items fun.
agreed, but the last plot was hardly about your skill level and more about are you online and can you complete this pretty easy task? they even gave people the option to skip things they couldn't do which I guess is okay but nothing was too difficult
Yeah that's true I guess. Although I think if you skipped a step last time, you didn't get the rewards for that step. It just let you be able to continue and try for the other stuff. I agree that the last event was pretty easy though, and I'd definitely like to see another plot with more puzzles or something a bit more challenging.
yeah you missed out on some points but they made it so you could choose what you get, so you hardly missed out. plot points were so cheap anyway.
That's true too. I just got one of everything, but I guess maybe not too many people did that. :P
I bought the books and saved the points. I still have them haha
Yeah, I figure most people probably got what they needed and then either saved the rest or looked to see what was the most desirable item that they could sell.
I collect pretty much everything that has a use though, so I end up needing a lot of things for myself. ;~;
