Well I'm not sure what exactly would have caused it, but hopefully they can get it fixed soon.

my guess would be they pick a time when there is less user to push something into the server to lessen the damage. really doesn't help in keeping the userbase confidence and support when there's not even acknowledgement about it.

well, thanks to that, i caught up with my readings.

Problem is if they fo need to bring it down, there's not a good way to warn people. "Site going offline in 5 mins" announcement would probably do just as much as immediately taking the site offline, and that's if the site was voluntarily taken offline. It probably was though, I know some thinfs have been worked on the past couple days.

at least 5 minutes warning is enough to stop people from doing time constrain activity like quest. also it can be a good PR to show they are doing things to improve the site 👍 👍

but whatever it is, i'm sure no more lag today. at least that was the pattern 😝

The site does have Twitter and Facebook accounts. They could post there. If the site is down for a while, I check those to see if it was planned or if it's being addressed by the staff.

Only problem is I know people have complained in the past that those accounts weren't being used effectively when the site was down for some reason. It seems they've been doing a better job with it recently though. I can understand if the site is down for like an hour or so, but at the same time some people seem to go there and freak out even if it's only been like 5 minutes screaming about how the site isn't working again.

Ugh I can't imagine being the one that has to deal with the social media accounts. Even for the MMO's I play, their social media is constantly under fire for random stuff from bored and angry people. shudders

However, I do have to agree with that just a little post on those pages that they're doing work and the site will be (or might go) offline is better than nothing at all. I too had started questing and then wham. XD Of course it's not a big deal either way, but if given a choice... ;)

Luckily I had just finished my questing when the site went haywire, hopefully all this downtime can at least help them figure out where the problem is coming from since I know they had said that was one of the things they were having trouble with.

I can be patient, but it would be nice to finally get rid of a lot of these issues for good.

eh I doubt it, people will still try to squeeze in quests and get cut off. it's only one quest though. I kinda doubt these are planned maintenance because when they take the site down, the terracoon page pops up, and it hasn't been up much at all, which tells me that the servers are up but just acting wonky.

they are supposed to get an intern to update those more frequently because Keith and Grace tend to get too focused on fixing the issue that they don't bother with the social media.

That makes sense , and I'm glad they ARE so focused on getting things fixed. But having some one to update on social media would be awesome. I wouldn't want that job, but it does seem to be an important one in this day and age. XD

Something weird that happened today, kinda made me giggle along with the whole "mischief" theme. I noticed our 3 back windows are missing their screens. o_o At first I kinda thought maybe the wind got them, but all 3? And they are nowhere to be seen? Seems a bit odd, as well as the fact the kitchen window which is smaller and also in the back still has its screen. XD At the same time... who on earth steals screens? Rofl. Either way, I called to get them replaced but it was still a strange discovery to make this afternoon. o_o;

yeah last I heard they are looking into getting someone else to update the social media. so it would be nice to see that happen. maybe they'll get someone after the new minis settle in to see who they know will do a good job.

might wanna notify the cops that someone is stealing screens o-o

THat's one of my favorite parts about Subeta, even if you're as slow as molasses in winter you can still RS something that's worth reselling! But then I do engage in quantity over quality, I don't quite know how the quality people manage to make a profit. What do you do for profit? I vaguely think I've already asked this question. there are a few things, but the time it takes for me to see it rs really isn't worth my time. there used to be so many big ticket items, now the majority of things are 80k besides a handful. ehh battling isn't as rewarding as you may think it is. things are fairly hard to sell and they deflate to no end. it's much more expensive to get my pet to where it is, along with the weapons I have. I probably won't ever earn that back from battling.

I know the feeling, I miss the captcha days. Now everyone with a connection's wandering in the stores, and what with the twenty five minute wait between restocks - the landscape's definitely changed.

It's probably not, actually. Battle Quests, sure, and the items that come from that, but other than that? Nah, and I know I won't earn back what I paid for weapons just from battling.

Haha not necessarily cool off, because I'm not going to change my mind and I know I probably won't change yours. But it took a minute to realize that I Was pretty much arguing the same thing over and over, and since it's feedback and not debate, well....better time, better place and all that. My opinion hasn't changed. And won't.

it's less rewarding than it used to be. especially with apothecary changed, I would rs there and get a handful of boosters each night and be happy with the progress I make. now there's no point, I'd be lucky to see a booster in a few hours.

battle quest doesn't give sP any more, just the junky weapons that maleria asks for which really add up over time, but not enough to be worth it.

Yeah I know what you mean. Putting it in the news still doesn't guarantee people reading it though. and it's not like anything has changed regarding the issue. Grace's post was a response to the topic, that people are upset and want to know what is going on, and her response is that it's a work in progress.

Yeah, I feel the same way about the apothecary. When I score one I immediately equip it on my pet, no questions. I haven't seen a booster since before the change.

Eh, I make money off the battle quest weapons because half of them are what Maleria asks for, and that does add up for me.

Guarantees a lot more would read it, though, and it acknowledges it's something that is of interest to the entire userbase. But I've said what I wanted to say already, and continuing to say it is just beating my head against the wall of Subeta and people who simply must insist that I do not know what I'm talking about. Letting people know what's going on allows them to feel valued, and that's what nobody gets. The userbase feels shat upon right now, and a stray comment doesn't help inform anyone except the people who happen to chance across it. A news post would go a long way to helping that, but god forbid anyone post one.

Heck knows why I expect it to change for the better. More fool me, I guess.

It's just when you have four pages of active, loyal users getting more and more discouraged in Bugs, and a similarly long of a feedback thread before anyone who knows posts, why the eff....? It makes no sense to me. None. Ever. It never will. One news comment or page three comment does not the userbase inform. It does not. Never will.

That and I effing refuse to download twitter specifically so I can keep up on messages about Subeta's status. Nope. Noooope.

I despise the blind spots that continue to exist, re communication, and am cynical enough to realize that while I keep hoping they will, it's not gonna change. Because if it was going to, it would have by now. So I complain about it in the vain hope that someone, anyone, will hear and something will change. More fool me.

I sell the ones with negative stat gain possibilities, but yeah I used them all other than the two or so.

if I don't price my shop for a few months I'll make like 50m over night just from quentin rewards and bq rewards. it's pretty great :p I don't think it makes up for training costs though.

Admin posts is going to be linked in the news when Amber pushes some things after midnight. I don't use twitter, it's not updated as often as their facebook. you don't need to download either to view the pages though. they're handy because when the site is offline, those sites are still up. Things don't normally get posted exclusively there.
