Yea normally a server move would be a good thing but it was most likely a downgrade in their case. The site ran soooo bad for MONTHS after the move until they presumably upgraded a bit. I'd assume they just cut habi and kq to try and save on server requirements but that's my cynicism coming through too. XD
Ugh I was big into Neoquest for a while and you can't even say "skill" cause it has kill in it. facepalm
I agree, the companies buying it were only looking for one thing but they took all the goodness out and then acted surprised when it floundered. This last one was most definitely the worst and it is really sad. I have a few friends there who just refuse to move, so I check in the guild there to chat with them but man... no thanks. I also got hacked randomly after over a decade of no issues, which helped show how the security got so much worse, and just added fuel to my fire to get outta there.
When I first saw how the shop search worked here, and the quests, I fell in love. XD I did have a little confusion just navigating the site at times since some of the maps didn't feel like they were labeled well enough but that quickly passed. :D And I would LOVE a blue building update! Not gonna lie, I was a wee bit disappointed once I got it unlocked, hee hee. But I can totally understand if they have bigger fish to fry. =)

I always wondered why they didn't have young person boards and adult boards. Sure people could lie to get on, but generally the 18+s would appreciate a more adult orientated section.
Finished my Brain Rot earlier today, back to normal Crackhead now!
Absolutely, the lack of common sense was astounding. A site where a typing error would get you iced? Who feels comfortable there...?
135 more posts until I find out if Keith is going to reset my post count to zero :(
Yeah they really needed to, but meh what can they do now. they've gone out of their way to ruin things for most users. my friend once said she was like 6 and they silenced her from forums for months until she could prove she was over 13 hahaha. I had said the same thing except I said I was younger than my account was and I think someone reported her but not me.
But why take down the site when beating it like a dead horse can actually squeeze a few more bucks from it? Bleed it till it's dry!
Probably because the poor little users don't know there's any better option. It took me longer than I like to admit to find Subeta, can't blame them for clinging to the only thing they know. Poor lil barnacles.
Huh. I wonder if they were trying to save money by going for a cheaper option, or one of those services that sounds too good to be true because it is. I guess that does make sense about Habi, but STILL. The only thing I liked, sniff sniff.
I KNOW RIGHT oh my god the shops. The shops all day. I can RS to my little heart's content, and actually EARN MONEY and I don't have to literally fight other users off to succeed! It's so fantastic here, I love it to death.
I had one of the top ten fastest scores on Hard Neoquest for...well, until they froze me for no reason a couple of years later. I'm still proud of that, and omg I loved that game so hard. I still miss that, to be honest.
It was the random out of the blue no reason that I could ever figure out freezing that really killed my interest in the site. I emailed them asking why, what happened, what even, and they just sent me this form letter with zero answer in it. I feel terrible for the little kids who run up against that, I had a hard time with it as a near-adult. It's just a terrible business format for a site. :c
true, why should anything function other than the nc mall and the wardrobe thingy?
I joined subeta just so I could restock while I was banned, and I had fun beating out my friends. this was back when restocking here was fun and actually profitable because some items were worth more than 50k
I also just think Subeta feels like more of an actual community. Even if I only talk to a few people like you guys, I see the same users over and over a lot so it's like I recognize them even if I don't really know them.
Neopets is just too big, and unless you talk on the forums a lot you're kind of just there and not really part of anything.
Why would your posts get reset?
because I pass Keith haha. Keith is 9th on the list and I'm 10th. he's threatened to reset people's post counts in the past :P
You can get posts reset?
Neopets - don't have a sense of humour in your posts. Or use any possible-to-misconstrue words.
And you'll be fine...
When I first started on Subeta I didn't bother with shops and quests as I thought it'd be like Neo. Oh, I missed out. Lesson learned!
I love the strain I currently have too. I actually had it back when it was a new virus and we couldn't decide which virus we get. I just got rid of it shortly before we could unlock all those skins in the wardrobe so I had to get it again ^^' I'll probably try something with the faceworm skin (the one where you are completely white and it actually doesn't look like worms to me, more like feather thingys xD) because I wanted to get that skin for forever and finally have it so I need to use it now xD I'll probably change to the one I'm having now sometime in the middle of masquerade cause I already have an outfit in mind for it, I just need to put it together in the next days xD
Brain rot is also one strain I have to get next year - soo many nice viruses to have <3 Yea exactly. Though I still visit from time to time, like maybe once every few monthts but it always takes longer untig I get on there. I just realized it has been probably a year now xD

I came to Subeta originally because a friend referred me so we could chat here without having to worry about getting in trouble since neo was so strict. I started participating in the events here more and more as neo started going really downhill.
Oh, that seems kind of silly. You just chat a lot, and it's not like you're really spamming or anything. These are actual conversations.
it is silly! I doubt he will, but who knows :P
yeah, I don't know if it's ever happened but they can do it if they want. yeah really :P
Well hopefully they don't, you worked hard for your post count!
Although it would be kind of funny to see a minimod with 0 posts, assuming you get chosen. :P
it would be very funny, though I have heard some people have been chosen with under 300 posts in the past o_o
Well, some people prefer to lurk. I guess if they feel like you're qualified, it shouldn't matter too much how many posts you have. For some of the forums you probably wouldn't need to post much, as long as you can monitor everything effectively.
ehh I feel like a moderator should show that they know the forum really well. sure you can say "I lurk a lot" but that doesn't prove how well you know the forum. advertising would be one of those forums actually. you shouldn't post a lot in there as long as you can enforce the rules.
I know, right? Make everything that works cost money and so of COURSE you'll make money!
Ha, you were ahead of the curve. Nice planning there. xD
LMAO right after I posted I scrolled up to click on the "kiss" button that doesn't exist anymore. I'm well trained. facepalm
Subeta does feel more like an actual community. They had guilds over there (they are called that, yeah?) that helped, because I found a pretty nice one until it imploded, but it's just too huge. Something like Team Shark would never happen over there.
Nice friend! It's funny, I had people mention Subeta to me over the years, but I didn't think it would be a fit for me. Shows what I know. M
What did you do for profit? Play games? I can see that, since that's pretty much the only thing you can do on Neo for profit aside from maybe playing the stocks.
uuuuuuuuu that white scaleface skin is not for me. xD I love that we can get skins we missed in the past, though! I too want to try and get Brain Rot next year, I do like the traditional zombie looking ones.
Hahaha your comment had me digging in my wardrobe looking at dresses. Nothing wrong with preplanning, right?
this was back when rabbit followings were called Rahs Rabbit Following and was like 35m each. these were the good ol' days. haha :p I never really used that button. I'd make the kiss= link to whoever I was helping and just leave it on that for a day or two
Yeah, I was in a nice guild over there too for a few years, it was good because it was more of a smaller one where we all knew each other. I never liked joining a huge guild, especially if it had already been around for a few years, because even if people were nice it still felt like I didn't really belong. And yeah, I loved seeing all of the teams come together for the competition. That would have been hard to have happen on neo for sure.
Subeta is great though, it's got a lot of the things I enjoyed about neo over the years, along with a staff that actually cares and tries their best. Plus lots of great items and events, there are still things to do around here.
I am pretty much Crackhead most of my time on here as it's my favourite. But I like collecting the zombie/zapper skins. I do think Doom Bloom is on my list for next time. And maybe a cute one like Love Bug.
I pretty much had no funds on Neo. Literally. Just the monthly bonus and occasional game, but I was an impoverished Neopian. Originally, I was there for the community, chatting and silliness. Then it went sideways. Ahh, memories...
Oh come on. You can still get that same resale value.
....from the cash shop! 8D
Nah I'm not bothered by it. I'm not fast enough now that they took the captcha away, but I do all right. It's always interesting to look back, though.
I liked my guild, too, but I do like it here better all the way around. I do miss my pets, still, but that's a small price to pay. I do like that the staff's 154% more responsive here, too. It's really overall a better place.
Now I'm wondering if there's going to be a team shark masq. All those sharks on the dance floor, could be dangerous.
I've always been such a restocker, that's kind of hard for me to imagine! Glad it was a fun place at first, although that's kind of an obvious statement to make - we don't stay places we don't enjoy. But yeah, those were the days.
...I did name my first pet after my neo pet, though. cough Uhm.
