Oh ok (: Never tried anything like that... But it's cool that it's working and that it has no side effects!

, yeah with pain the watching calories and cooking gets overwhelming. So i usually eat ramen without the packets (has msg). And add chix and veggies. Then when we feel ok we cook together. Wecall have the fibro, its nice in a way cuz we understand each other. And yes its painful and no cure for it.

That must be really harf on you, I admire your strengh, keep it up! You don't have to walk that path alone (: I guess people who know how it feels understand each other the best. I love cup ramen but I am too lazy to make a real healthy dish out of it xD although I'm a serious fan of veggies and I'm in love with all fruit except pine apple and papaya.

Yes its hard but keeping positive is a must. My bff/roomy helps a lot, shes deaf and struggles to stay positive, it reminds me how lucky i am besides tge pain, it could be worse. Actually i am lazy too, ha ha, i boil water, throw in frozen veggies and frozen cooked chicken then sdd noodles. Its very simple. Takes like five minutes.

Poor her... so do the both of you communicate through sign language? Haha that is a good and fast version to pimp up your ramen xD Need to try that myself xD

My daughter has Fibro, its awful, I do feel for you, and would like to say well done for losing that weight and improving your lifestyle :0) I do hope its ok to ask here, do you get burning pains up and down your back like your nerves are on fire? and lumps behind your ears lol. I know its not a laughing matter but sometimes its what gets you through.
Yes i am very fluent in sign language its very important in communication. Her sister is my other roomy, shes hearing but signing was her first language.
its a sharp pain to me and stabbing. I think the pain varies depending on the person. No no lumps on ears, lol....see i laugh too... But i got a mole in my ear. Two actually. hope ping is working.
Yeah its an easy way to make ramen, thays for sure.

Wow... It must be so hard to express your feelings and opinions without making a sound... I have never met anyone who is so close to someone deaf. May I ask if you bestie is working and in case she is, what is she doing? And also, how do you guys call each other on the phone? Do you do some sort of video call?

, actually its easier to express my feelings with sign than speaking, you use a lot of facial expressions and gestures. Which you might not realise it but most of your expressions naturally are that way. Thats why babies learn sign faster than speaking. My bestie does not work because of her pain, like me, shes on ssi, she has worjed in the psst, its difficult because deaf can work in almost any capacity but hearing peopke assume they cant so its hard to get hired. There is texting, or face time in some mobile devices. Which she uses. There is also video relay the deaf use whom can afford it. The internet price is costly. And basically you watch on tv an interpreter who places the call for the deaf person. Feel free to ask anything about it.

Oh really? And would you say that sign language is also easier to learn than something like Italian when you grew up with English? Is it really possible to work? Because any job with people should be hard, right? Like working at any restaurant, or in an office, or in a shop of any kind. May I ask what she did before? And can she go to the movies? when watching a DVD you can always switch on the subtitles (which I think is awesome) but are there also cinemas which show the movie with subtitles?

Well... It depends, if you learn well by hearing then a regular language is easier, if you are a visual learner then sign is easier.
It is possible, they just cant hear, however it requires time to write and or get an interpreter and in this world everything is hurry hurry. Like i know a deaf man who cooks in a restaurant. Others in office and she did janitorial, assembly line, and something else i forget.
Yes, before deaf went to movies with action but now they have caption machines you take to your seat. The one bummer is some dvds still dont provide captions and its very frustrating for her.

I know Im butting in, but do you use Makaton sign in America? My daughter works with special needs people and she uses that, its amazing. Also I sat next to a profoundly deaf woman at work, we did computer stuff, her parents never let her learn to sign, they wanted her to seem as 'normal' as possible shes an older lady like me, but she learn to lip read remarkably well, last year she went to a dedicated hospital and had a cochlear implant at the back of her ear, she can now hear, but she doesnt like it much, she turns it off when it all gets too much lol. Im laughing thinking of her, she was a very funny lady we used to laugh and mess about. she had a remote control for it and could change what ever frequency /input she wanted, she said she was like the six million dollar man, dont know if you remember that program?
waves Hey guys!! I'm finally home... it's been a fun few weeks but so glad to be back home and sleeping in my own bed again! ^_^ How is everyone? I've missed you!! My internet access has been fairly limited (if accessible at all) the last three weeks, but yay for being back and connected all the time again... ROFL... it's so hard when you're used to it all the time to give it up, even for holiday breaks... :P
I saw the ear thing... LOL... it wasn't meant to be just elf ears but all ears since many wigs have ears on them too (like the kitty ears and such) ... it just so happened that subeta released all sorts of ears so we could be elfs... :P
makaton i dont know , never heard of it, i dont know about all disabilities, just a couple. poor woman, a lot of parents do that to their kids, its not right because deaf need to communicate and signing can do that for them. Cochlears are bad in a lot of ways, they cause many medical problems. Its nice though she tried to cope well with a good sense of humor. Its just sad she didnt get to know the deaf community. ... (Deaf culture via sign language) Thats cool you got to know her. She may feel pretty isolated at times. Yes i know about the 6 million man, but my brain is a tad foggy on details. P. S. Butting in is fine!

It's great that they are able to work and I know that problems with DVDs, I always switch the language into English and turn the subtitles into English as well, to improve my English but sometimes they don't have English subtitles... And would you say deaf are well or enough integrated into the current society? Or are there situations or places that need to be worked on? And also how do deaf people think? Is there something like a voice in their head or do they think in pictures?
Oh no please take part in this conversation, if we wanted to talk about that in private we would do that, but it's great that you share your experiences with us (: And it's really sad that the woman you worked with was denied learning sign language... For the parents to not accept their daughter for who she is is just too cruel...
Welcome back ^^ The struggle with wifi... Our connection where I live is pretty bad so whenever my sister comes home she wants to leave again because of that xD

LOL ya I totally get that... my grandparents did have internet for a short bit but it was so bad that the people using it were always complaining anyways (my grandparents weren't using it themselves, they don't bother with computers).
Happy Birthday sweetie!!! ^_^
did you guys get anything from the pawn sale
Looking for these : x100
Ya I picked up a few things that I'd wanted, things that are kinda always in there so not good for trading later but if I get bored can dump for not much of a loss. :P You?
