Oh yea, I know it is becoming more common. I had upper jaw surgery in 2009 and it went really well. In fact, it went much better than I had anticipated because I had almost no swelling and zero pain (and I was off pain meds). c: I am only more nervous about this one because it is a 9-11 hour surgery, which is way longer than before. And I will be have upper and lower jaws worked on as well as both the joints. It is mostly the joints that are causing me the most stress. They also have to remove belly fat from my lower abdomen and place it around my new titanium jaw joints, so that also will be a place to heal down there as well.
shrug I know it will totally be worth it and it will go smoothly, but it's still a thing I have to stress/think about. I am really grateful for what you said though. I don't know how you knew it but I really just needed to hear that -- thank you. hugs

I really really extremely want: Ive just been through cancer surgery, I had a malignant tumor in my lower bowel so I had to have some taken out and resection it. Im doing great now, BUT it leaves you with a better understanding of how people are really feeling when they casually mention surgery of ANY sort.
Honestly I cant believe how quickly the time has gone since I had it done, its 2 months now and you will be the same, and so grateful to be 'fixed' dont worry about Christmas and all that, just take your time to get better and I hope you have all the help you need as I did, Im just so lucky.
Yes! it really does help you understand what they are going through once you've been through it. I am really sorry to hear about your tumor, were they able to remove it all? Do you have to undergo radiation or chemo treatment? My grandfather had to undergo radiation for a caner tumor they removed in his throat. My sister and I helped him with his initial hospital and recovery phase. hugs I am glad to hear you are doing better and feeling better now though, that is really great to hear. hugs

I really really extremely want: Yes I am very lucky, here in England we get free cancer screening tests, too much information to follow>>>>
I had colonoscopy and ct scans, and then they cut a 6" length out of my tubes and stuck them back together, luckily I didnt need rt, or chemo,I have to have regular tests but they got it all.
oh my gosh, the testing sounds horrible to go through (I have had a colonoscopy so I know those are not fun!). Testing for things is so time consuming with so many dr appts too. However, I am so glad they were able to find it and remove it to prevent it from metastasizing! <3<3 BTW, your HA is so beautiful!

I really really extremely want: Yes the colonoscopy was rotten, BUT the worst thing was the horrible drinks you had to have before, 4 litres of some vile liquid to 'clear me out' my poor husband had to give me enema's before the op because I couldnt reach round rofl, now THAT,is love.
I can only imagine what it must be like for people like you and your sister and my lot, all the worry and trying to say and do the right thing, you know, its weird but when you're the one in the centre of the storm as it were, your rather numb like you can believe it, and it all happened within the space of a month, very quickly so it was a big shock to us all,I came out of hosp on my oldest daughters birthday hers always gets messed up with something!
Congrats on going back to school! It's not an easy thing to do as an adult. I went back at 32 and got my associates at 36. I'm still going part time since I have a full time job. You got this!
I'm not around ;P This is not the Merlot you are looking fore waves hand like a Jedi HAHA :D
giggles
I know those jedi tricks. I use them all the time. :D
ZOOM AWAY QUICK
LOL silly girl . besides, I've talked with you here, in the last 4months. so even if you were not here for this time, you would be here later.
LOL i'm mainly talking about people who i don't remember seeing ALL YEAR. (some i haven't seen in YEARS)
those people, are the ones i'm just deleting out of the ping group. :)
Dropping in to say HI to everyone! I don’t post, I think at all. Forum fears..but I like this group and would hate to be deleted.
Yes YES! Those horrible drinks were the worst part of the colonoscopy for me as well! lol To this day I still feel sick thinking about it! It is always difficult to find the right words but I realized that most times just being with someone is enough. Most people just need someone by their side, someone they know supports them with love and friendly kindness. I am glad you had that too with your family. It stink your eldest daughters bday seems to always get muddled up. I hope it was still able to be celebrated. :D

:D IT"S OK!! You don't have to be more active (even though, showing up for the 1st of the month celebration would be nice) and SCHOOL IS IMPORTANT!! (that's your future you're talking about!)
I just needed to know you were still on site, and around :)
THANK YOU LADIES for checking in. :D
, I will try to post more. LOL, that 'real person' comment made me laugh. Giveaways sound fun!
grins lol well. sometimes I forget that I am REAL..... I actually think I'm witchy, and I just don't understand when my "magic" isn't working with my daughter.
:D
checking in here. I have been very sick so I haven't been in the mood to chat. Sorry guys. But i'm getting help so hopefully I will get better soon.
Aww poor you it looks like everyone is sick. Hope you recover fast.
Mine is severe pain and insomnia so bad I hardly leave my bed. Its been that way for two weeks. The plus side is i'm able to go early to my sleep study tonight to find out why i'm only getting 2-4 hours sleep and its very light at that. If I can just sleep again my pain will not flare up as badly. Fortunately, its not serious just frustrating. I will try to be more active when I get over this hump.
Alright, I'm going to disappear now and rest. Hope all of you feel better soon.
