Last night daughter had a Hammer Horror films evening, watching the old dracula films, [Christopher Lee Peter Cushing] Dracula prince of darkness,etc. Christopher Lee was a very interesting man.

I mentioned it cause theyre on Netflix which you said I assume ours is the same as yours, I often wonder about what programs people see via sky etc in the other parts of the world. We've also got an Amazon fire stick now, so many options! so many remotes! I like detectives,: Sherlock, Endeavour etc.

i love the Poirot and Miss Fishers, if i search for the movies, they will start showing up in my lists. how is that amazon fire stick? the man wants a tv out in his shop/shed, and so far nothing we have will work out there. that might be something i'm willing to splurge on for him.

The stick is quite cheap, and theres no subscription.you have to be careful, some things you have to pay for but some are free, there are categories and obvs the latest films are paid but a lot of things are not: say you see a film you want to watch, you click on it, and it shows you options to watch, it is quite clear if you have to pay for it, there are a lot of programs/series that are amazon only like the 3 guys from top gear, they are great and funny 'the grand tour'.
We have a 'Now TV' box and via that, we can access youtube,netflix and others that you can download as Apps, that is very good, you just buy the little box for about £20 and it usually has a couple months free films [Sky owns the Now TV company its all above board] using the now tv box we have bought a monthly subscription to Netflix I dont know what your set up is of course. More Remote controls!

ha. I went and looked on amazon about it. . i especially like it that it also does "voice commands" the problem is the man. heh. it's got to be EXTRA BABY Simple for him to be able to use. but him being able to say the name of a show, would help him "get over it" i think. :/

and yah. i have netflix and amazon prime subscriptions, plus we have DishTV (a cable type connection) only thing is, I THINK, his little tv is Not Smart. it's an older model. but for 40 $ it might be worth trying out.

The big problem with the firestick is that it ties into the amazon ecosystem, including the echo... If you are an android fangirl coughs that is very problematic. Right now we have an echo AND a google home, but we are integrating everything to the google home.... the echo's days are numbered! ^.^

But my husband is a technical mastermind and has 'smart'ed up the entire damn house (like he can control the garage door with his phone even, its nuts), so he does not need the ease of plug-n-play like the firestick. but if you are brave with integration, google home is where its at, its way more coopertive with other systems :D (thats the short version since, unlike my husband, I am NOT a technical mastermind lol)

I'm watching The Ranch with Sam Elliot and Ashton Kutcher. (however you spell it) It's pretty funny, 30 min episodes and I started watching Grace and Frankie with Jane Fonda and Lilly Tomlin. You'd probably like that one :D

aaahhhh, . i'll tell my girl to go with a google phone than. (heh) I'd love to have tech like your hubby, but i'm to old now, to really get into learning about them. I find now a days, all i want is the "plug and play" type of things.

well the amazon fire stick it about the size of a mobile phone its pretty simple to use theres a home button, a big button to accept choices and an outer circle to choose the direction you want to scroll he should be fine with it.
