I'm so sorry that is happening and a lot of people can't take no for answer when it comes to money. My parents helped my brother all his life (he's in his 40s now and not married) and last year they told him no, he has to do this on his own.

Here's my families situation right now. I'm not involved in it since I don't live in the town as the rest of them, but I was there (helping my dad after a major surger) when it all blew up from being stewed upon since my great-niece was born. Basically, the mom didn't want any of the dad's family to see the baby as much as her family and it took some convincing to make her leave the house with the baby. Then all three of them moved in with my parents because of serious problems at the mom's house and family. Well, the mom decides to not want to live there, cheats on the dad, starts secretly moving the babies items (birth certificate, ssn and other important papers) back to her house, dad finds out and then a restraining order is put on mom (from my parents house) and she is banned from seeing the baby for awhile until papers can be drawn up and things figured out. Well, dad is stubborn and doesn't listen to anyone and takes the baby over to the moms families house and there she has been every since. My family has not seen that baby since May of this year and she just turned 1 this month. It's a sad situation.

sorry to read about your family troubles, I have an older niece who must be getting on to be 10, we haven't seen here since she was about 3 or 4 yrs old. My youngest brother and the mum separated before Ellen was born. But everyone got to see her for a bit before the mum got funny over things. Then when Ellen was 3/4 the mum wanted another kid by my brother who said no, well we got to see her for about but then things went wrong again and we haven't seen Ellen since, dosent help my brother never fought for his rights and the mum never named him on the birth certificate. Families are one giant pain in the rear end.
