It is like an actual world at this point with all the lore they have written . I am not gonna lie, for 2 of my repeat playthroughs in Origins I totally just used console commands. hangs head in shame But I have a couple of no-cheat games going too since that does end up being much more fun in the long run.
I'm thinkin I want to start reading the books. Apparently there are some? I remember hearing of it when people were talking more in depth about Briala and Celene. It might be a good way to learn more if they're considered canon. I've been meaning to do that with SWTOR as well, even though that stuff isn't canon any more I've heard there's still some amazing stories out there.

I think when I finally get DA:O on PC (I only have it on xbox 360) I'll likely end up cheating my way through the Circle tower b/c my goodness it's tedious.
I haven't read the books myself, but I would like to. There are five of them and titles can be found here. As far as I know they're canon, at least the first 4 since they were written by Gaider and Weekes.
I hope you don't mind, but I read your post and was curious enough to check out the reviews on the stories. Looks like a list of absolute "musts" for all of us addicts. :)
Oh certainly. As pieces of canon they are great b/c they're offer background that isn't really found in the games. Like I'm pretty sure the first two, if not first three, are all pre-Origins. I've never been so excited about history.
If dragons had helped the US win independence from England, I'd have a masters degree in American History! :)
Rofl , same here!!! XD
Thanks for the list ! I have never even seen that site before but I see I had better make an account to keep track of my reading. I totally do that with anime but I don't watch that as much as I read. :D

I just Googled for the book titles, since I didn't know them myself, or how many books there were. Apparently there's a Dragon Age anime film about Cassandra too.
It's been quiet in here.... <_<
Everyone too busy in the land of Thedas?! I hope so, cause that's usually more fun than planet Earth. =p XD

I know you pinged me a horribly long time ago but thanks for letting me know this thread is here! I hardly come to this forum so its good to know that it exists o:
Speaking for the DA books, the comics are a pretty good read, I'm really loving Magekiller right now, especially the cover art O:
Also, everyone is looking very nice for masquerade o:!
AARGH! My new playbox gets set up tonight so I can play DA & all the expansions! So I'm assuming masq will start tonight? LOL
Gotta go get changed!
Busy with Origins, and life stuff. Gonna be directing a play, takes up a lot of time. Plus, I was the last to post so I wasn't able to keep the thread alive :p I just copied everyone else, I dunno if Masq will be up soon.
EDIT: I've just now finished Origins. Blew through the last battle in 15 min after being stuck on it for hours. Now I don't know what to do with myself.
Well, I just got ready for masq, so I can start my DA file on the new playbox! :) OMG! What am I going to be? I wanna be everything! lol
I can't wait for Masq to start~~ Maybe it'll be motivation enough for me to buckle down and power through the Winter Palace chapter in my current Inquisition run. P: I've spent way too long avoiding it.
The Winter Palace is a fun quest, in my opinion. Definitely a neat change from the normal constant hack-through-your-issues.
I agree -- the palace makes me drag my feet too. But there are some high points -- esp the conversations. I love the deaths of all 9 husbands... lol It doesn't hurt to have the war table op either. :)
I also always take Iron Bull now too. Love his chatter!
It is a really fun diversion from the constant 'go here and beat up stuff until plot happens,' (with dancing! And deadly, deadly politics!) but after 4 playthroughs of the game it feels more like 'that hour-long stretch of blundering around the Palace micromanaging court approval and halla statues before I can kick Corypheus' teeth in.' It's definitely not that I dislike it at all, but for some reason I'm really dragging my feet actually getting to it this time around. Maybe it's just because all my playthroughs are immediately on the heels of each other?
Yes, but husband number 7 was crushed by a cart of fine handbags. ROFL! I do have the same problem though. I tend to do everything I can before I do the palace. Probably because i have such trouble getting to the naked guy on the bed.
I feel it's controversial to say that I've never had an issue with keeping the approval high, and I finished both my playthroughs with 100 easy-peasy.
What happens when approval falls too low? I am tempted to find out...
Sorry I've been gone everyone! I've been buried in school work and I've been spending most of my time lately playing DA when I get a break. XD I hope you're all doing well though! <3 Sorry for the super late responses!
did my sig art! c: I can't wait to see your wardens! Let me know if you need any help modding DAO, it's a tiny bit different than DAI because DAO and DA2 still have an editable file that you have to list things that affect the CC (usually at least, there are a few that don't). But most of the DAO and DA2 mods are pretty simple (you just extract and stick them in the override file most of the time.
Your warden is precious! ;w; My bf has been in Fallout Hell for a while. XD He's switching back over to the Witcher 3 now.
The qunari mods are so gorgeous! If I had to recommend one alone though it would be the one that fixes their makeup. XD It made a MASSIVE difference on my qunari ladies. <3 kadust makes some really awesome hair mods in general on nexus, and I really love her qunari ones. :3
Hope you're feeling better now! c: Your inquisitor is stunning! <3 I need to get some of my latest Hawkes and wardens up. XD
I feel like I do almost the opposite. XD I love taking screenshots in the Winter Palace, so I always rush to get there. But if I stop in the middle of it I have a hard time picking it back up. XD I drag my feet with Here Lies the Abyss though.
I don't usually have any issues with approval either, usually picking the middle dialogue option all the way through makes things simple. XD Plus the caprice coins are a nice boost!
I think if you get your approval too low you're not able to intervene when the assassin makes their move and you're forced to fight the assassin? Could be wrong though. c:
