i don't understand the purpose of it.
what is the disadvantage of letting people buy from it faster?
or is it due to some technical programming that i won't understand anyway?
I think the days of the time limit are numbered.
thanks for the speedy reply!
so 'the no longer there boosters' are the black sheep that has been keeping others from indulging their inner desire of shopping spree :P
hopefully the cooldown won't be there for long. i realize this annoyance when i bought something today that i've been meaning to buy since last year. totally forgot about it because i was on cooldown when attempted to buy last year.
I had asked Amber that question earlier today so that's the most recent word on that. I think the fact that the booster in there isn't worth it + they can't find a good way to put an alert in there will mean the cooldown will be removed eventually :)
Didn't it used to be longer anyway, and then they changed it to one hour? It's already been reduced by a lot, and if there isn't really any reason for it to still be there I agree it makes sense to just get rid of it. It might even work better as an sP sink if people can buy from it at any time.
yes. it could be a better sink if no cooldown. people do forget stuff quickly, let alone 1 hour.
we need irresponsible spending if we want money out :P
It used to be 8 or 12 hours, I don't remember, until I made a suggestion thread when it was changed xD I really think it will be removed eventually, maybe even sooner than later
it's so that you don't buy too many Natashas
(Because text affects the width of your signature, we suggest testing with all text removed to be sure your width is correct.)
Seriously, cooldown helps for double purchase glitches, so I would not mind the cooldown being lowered, but not completely removed.
Yeah I think it'd be more along the lines with other shops we've done where it's a few seconds or a minute or something. STILL THINKING ABOUT IT, NOTHING FOR SURE
what about 5 minutes like SBQ? Keep the numbers consistent. That would make more sense to me than the 1 min or 30 seconds or whatever it is for event shops, since it's more of a 'main' shop, with high priced sP items.
SBQ has a limited stock, MC doesn't. unless there's a 5 min wait time on the permanent stock stuff too, I don't dabble in sbq at all any more. either way, anything is an improvement.
what's the time limit for GoOutside and the zombie den? I think it should probably be similar to those.
my thinking with it being 5 minutes versus 30 seconds was avoiding 'I refreshed the page and bought TWO of item X that cost me another 3mil sP!!!'
There isn't a wait time for either of those, unless it's only 5 seconds or so.
hm I swear zombie den had one, but tested it out and didn't get one. maybe that's a different shop I'm thinking of. I think they could get away with 1 minute safely. is a double purchase something that can be taken care of in a ticket or a tough luck situation?
there used to be but they took it away awhile ago. I believe they did that when we got the skins this past year that we could save, and it wasn't an 'exclusive' shop anymore.
They can usually take it away in a ticket I think, but why chance it with items that pricey, and increase the amount of work for staff, when making the cooldown a bit longer will probably fix that?
Ok, if you think five minutes is so awful, what about two? :P I mean do you really need to be buying something every 5 seconds all day?
[edit]
OH I JUST SAW THE ONE MINUTE THING ignore me lalala.
2 is probably fine! 5 is just long enough that I'll forget I'm still buying stuff from the MC and then a week later remember I have books to buy from the MC.
I'd be curious without a time limit (or even a minute) how many items actually get double bought and if it would actually increase staff's workload. a minute is a pretty long time.
[edit] I forgot I even wrote that.
it used to happen all the time during events with the event shops. They ended up changing the coding of them or something to keep it from happening, because it got so bad. I guess when the site lags, if the page refreshes or the user refreshes it, there's your double purchase.
It can/has happened with CW shops as well. It's a well-established problem, unfortunately. Staff has found a lot of ways to fix/prevent it from happening, which is great. But it's always better to be safe than sorry.
