Yanagi just stared at Minato with one of those 'are you really that clueless?' looks he often gave people as he yelled. Surprisingly, the Uzumaki's rage subsided, so Yanagi took his hand off his kunai, returning it to his pocket from the ninja pouch.
"That must mean you are Uchiha Yanagi. Your grandfather was one of my fiercest opponents, I expect great things from you." Lee Sensei announced. The seasoned Jonîn looked over his team with determined, satisfied. "Yes, I expect greatness from all of you!"
Yanagi was unbelievably annoyed by this Sensei. [que sweat drop] He just stood there, listening to Lee. He figure that was a better option than finding a place to read a book he had tactically aquired from a certain old man.
"Now it is time to start your training by getting to know one another! Starting with you, Sora San, each of you will tell me your dream, what you want to achieve in this life!" He exclaimed, followed by a display of emotional pride [que chibi tears] 'oh, Gai Sensei, I've captured your image, and everything you taught me, you would be so proud!' He thought, but on the outside he was maintaining that glinted smile with his hands on his hips.
It was easy to see the difference in personalities between her two teammates and Sora couldn’t help but feel that this might cause problems down the road. It also appeared that something might have happened earlier between them, but luckily, Minato had quickly calmed down.
Sora was just as eager as her teammate to begin training, so the question asked cut her excitement just a bit. She should have expected the first day to start off pretty slow, though. “Well,” she began, pushing a strand of loose hair behind her right ear, “my dream is to become a strong kunoichi and master the puppet technique.” She smiled; her deep blue eyes appeared to light up as she spoke about the art that she was clearly very passionate about. “I hope to become recognized for this skill,” she finished. Keeping the small smile on her face, she glanced over to the two boys, showing interest in what their goals were.
((Just had to say that you capture Lee so well! Can't help but read his parts in his voice. xP ))
'Dreams?' Minato wondered to himself. He only had one dream, rather a destiny, a life long path for him to follow. "I am going to master my great grandfathers techniques and become even faster than he ever was!" A dream that was fostered by the stories his grand father used to tell him as well as the name that was left to him at birth. "So fast they will nickname me Konoha's Red Flash in honor of his legacy!" he finished. Of coarse, there was much more to his dream then that, but they would have to see what he would achieve for themselves. He was preparing himself to be the next generational legacy in the Village Hidden in the Leaves. However, looking over at Yanagi, he knew in his gut that he would have strong competition and rivalry from him in the future, as was natural of the Uchiha. Not to mention Sora, not knowing her very well, he could only guess at how talented she was, and after seeing the detail of her puppet earlier, it was hard to imagine her not being talented. He waited in anticipation of what his sensei would have to say and his mind was also consumed by what Yanagi's dream would be. He had a feeling it would be rather interesting.
[Look at this service I'm providing, two posts in one day! I must find this interesting or something :P]
"My dream?" Yanagi asked, "My dream is to someday become strong enough to be the most powerful Anbu Blackops Ninja ever." He said simply, as if that were the same as any other kid's dream. "It's not quite fourth Hokage level dream or anything, but that's it." He added, a smart stab at Minato's pride.
Before the Uzumaki had a chance to reply, Lee spoke up again, "Alright! Squad seven will be the greatest squad that the Villiage, nay the world has ever seen!" He exclaimed, pointing on finger to the sky and balling the other hand into a fist against his chest. He returned to his previous stance before talking again.
"Okay, now to begin your training. I will re-teach you all the basics of being a shinobi, then we will apply them in a small exercise. Let us go!" He said with gusto and, once again, a thumbs up and a smile. With that he spun around and started toward the training grounds.
"Oh man, why did we end up with this guy? He's wearing me out just watching him." Yanagi muttered to himself as Lee Sensei marched off. He noted how much he sounded like old man Shikamaru. "And I gotta stop playing shogi with the old man." He added as he jogged to catch up with Lee Sensei.
[do you even know how many posts I write in one day? Lol it's borderline exhausting]
Sora’s gaze went from Minato to Yanagi as they took turns speaking about their dreams. She froze at Yanagi’s comment towards the redhead - already knowing that would spark up yet another dispute between them, but their sensei had quickly directed the group’s attention toward their next task.
She watched him give another thumbs up and smile before turning towards the training grounds. He was quick on his feet as if he had trained his whole life with heavy weights strapped to his ankles or something (heh). Sora couldn’t help but smirk at the thought.
Seeing Yanagi jog off after their sensei, she turned to the Uzumaki with a small smile. “Come on, Minato,” she said, jerking her head a little in their direction. With that, she turned away and started off towards the other two.
'Bout time!' Minato thought to himself. He felt like he had been waiting for this moment his whole life. It was finally time for him to do some real training with his team and he was more then ready to show off. More than show off, he was going to put that punk Yanagi in his place. Nothing and no one was going to get in the way of his dream.
He quickly kicked off after the three in front of him. With the intent to keep up with the nimble instructor, he chased after him. After running around barefoot in the woods his entire childhood, his callused and browned feet carried him along like a gust of wind. Keeping true to his dream, he was already speeding along towards it.
Lee Sensei led the three genîn out to the training grounds in the woods. There was a clearing that was perfect. "Alright! For your first lesson, we will keep it simple! All you must do is land a single strike to my body!" He announced. With a look of utter confidence that this would be a challenge for them.
"One strike?" Yanagi asked, "Seriously, what's the first lesson." In his mind, landing a single strike was the easiest possible training that Sensei could've come up with. He was hoping for the bell test that Sakura Sensei was rumored to administer, or the hiding test that Konohamaru Sensei was famous for. Landing one punch, kick, kunai, shuriken, or otherwise wasn't a test, it was a guaranteed victory.
"I am serious." Sensei replied, blading his body with one hand behind his back and the other forward and flat.
Was he only going to use Taijustsu? This guy was clearly getting a little too old for this job.
Sora glanced around the clearing as they entered, noting how spacious it was. This was definitely a perfect spot to start their first lesson, which she assumed would be something a bit strenuous so that Lee Sensei had some sort of idea of what their skill level was. However, the instructions they received from him wasn’t at all what she was expecting. ’Why is he going so easy on us? He looks so confident too,’ the kunoichi thought to herself, feeling a little puzzled. Even for new genin, she felt that getting just one strike in was far too simple.
Yanagi asked the question that was burning in her mind. Surely this was a joke of some sort and Lee Sensei would simply laugh, give them another one of his glinting smiles, and tell them what their first lesson really was. That didn’t happen. Sora watched the man reassure the Uchiha before falling into a Taijutsu stance.
“Um, Sensei? Are you sure you’re not going a little too easy on us?” the girl asked, taking a step back and readying herself anyway. Sora was sure either Minato or Yanagi would take the lead and go first and she was fine with that; she was still trying to figure out their Sensei and why he was so oddly confident with this simple task. Something in her gut was telling her he may have a few tricks up his sleeve.
Smirking to himself, Minato quickly understood the gist of the challenge. One strike on a master taijutsu user would be nearly impossible and not a single person in Konoha did not know of Rock Lee's determination and suffering to accomplish his mastery.
Naturally, Minato stepped up to take on his challenge first. "Hmmmm, I think I can take him." he said to the two behind him. He had a trick up his sleeve, but he was still unsure whether anything he did at all would get through to the lithe old man. Lifting up the left sleeve of his long sleeve black shirt, he placed his hand on the inside of his forearm covering the tattoo of what appeared to be a sun with ten triangles extending out ward as if they were rays of the sun. On the inside of the sun was a complex sealing formula that couldn't be deciphered at first glance. After a brief second of chakra manipulation, a kunai appeared in his hand along with a puff of grey smoke. On Minato's forearm, one of the rays of the sun changed from its original black color to a deep, dark red.
Minato smirked at Lee-sensei. In this situation, it was only right for him to go all out against his new teacher. He even prepared to use his trump card on the old man. Holding the kunai with his left hand, he charged at Lee-sensei full throttle. He cocked his right fist back and attempted to go for a haymaker. As he swung his fist in an arc towards his teachers face, he stealth-fully threw the kunai into the ground below him. "See if you can take this old man!" he shouted at the top his lungs.
((Are you still open to have new people join? Wanted to ask since you seem to have a full team and have already started.))
[depends on your character but I'm pretty flexible. Post a skelly for me and we can go from there]
With a 'woosh' Lee had distanced himself from the red-haired genîn and his kunai. His stance had not changed, he was still standing there with that stupid smirk on his face. Yanagi found it annoying, but that speed was blinding. He did a series of hand signs and readied.
"Fire style, fireball jutsu!" He announced, casting a huge fireball across the training field. Huge was no overstatement. The flaming sphere had to be around twelve feet in diameter as it hurled at their Sensei, but he was too fast. He darted out of the way giving a small chuckle.
"I envy your youth, but you lack passion." He taunted, still holding his trademark stance.
Sora gave a small nod to Minato as he announced that he’d go first – which wasn’t at all surprising. Taking a leap back, she jumped into a tree and landed gently on her haunches; her left hand steadying herself as she placed it on the thick branch beneath her while her right hand rested on her knee. By this time, Lee had already distanced himself from the Uzumaki and was back to standing in the same stance with the same look of confidence.
The kunoichi’s eyes then darted over to Yanagi as he performed a few hand signs before unleashing a fireball jutsu. The size was impressive, and Sora was almost sure that the jutsu had gotten their Sensei since he seemed to disappear behind the huge fireball. Once it died down, however, it was clear he had moved out of the way yet again. ’He’s quick,’ she thought to herself, wasting no time as she pulled out two shuriken from their pouch and threw them in the jonin’s direction while he taunted Yanagi. She held her breath, hoping it would catch him off guard.
Grinning at the impressive moves of Lee-sensei, he prepared a few more kunai from his tattoo. It now had four red rays total, meaning he had three kunai in his hand. Watching at Yanagi's impressive firepower he knew that they would have to work together to land a hit at all. He then sensed the two shuriken approaching from the side. This was the chance he was hoping for. If he could corner him just right, then they just might be able to land a hit. Gambling with the few kunai he had prepared, he tossed them in a spread pattern, one straight towards his teacher and two to either side. Prepping his chakra and hand signs, Minato waited expectantly.
