Editing within a time limit and a preview button would be so helpful.
<p>The news comments seem to be a place of drama sometimes, and people would just edit their comment to remove whatever they said. I know we can do that on forums too, and I don&;t like that much either.</p>
<p>Usually when people post they notice something&;s gone awry with their comment right away, such as malfunctioning scode, and that&;s when, I&;d assume, they&;d edit it. For the people who say things just to start stuff, the backlash doesn&;t usually come until a little while later. Basically you said it and now you have to live with it.</p>

Yes. This. Literally couldnt have explained this better.
I'm not sure about editing comments as it could end up confusing if people change their comment too much.
I do think a preview would be a good idea though.
I would LOVE the preview option! I'm on the fence on the edit - mostly because I don't know coding to know whether a time-limit would be easy to put on it. If so, sure :)
But to my own surprise, I'm not up for the pagination. I thought I would like that, but just as brought up, I ctrlF for staff comments and use ctrlEND to get to the start of the conversation, and pages would make that messy and annoying. :(
I vote for a preview button.
Also a small time limit to be able to edit.
I could live without editing if I could delete my comment and try again. But editing would be nice.
