that's awesome XD when i was a kid, before it was against the law, mum and i collected frog spawn, and put it in a massive basin in the garden. when the tadpoles emerged we fed them on little bits of minced beef until they were fully turned into tiny tiny frogs (i used to kiss the teeny froggies hoping they'd turn into a prince! XD thinking back, it must have been terrifying for the frogs :P ) and then we took them back to where we got them are released them. i wish i could do it again, but no such luck. and in my science class in high school, we were to observe woodlice, i had to bring them in, because the rest of the class were 2 wimpy gay guys and girls who thought that insects were gross. i used to play with woodlice (slaters we call them really) when i was a kid. still do if i find one :P so i was happy to go looking for them :D

Such a tiny puffer fish. I hear they are poisonous if you eat them. Like, you have to cook them just right in order to get rid of a toxin that is present in the fish. A show that I watched, called 1000 Ways To Die, a man out of his mind ate a whole puffer fish in one gulp. The fish got scared and puffed up, killing he man in a matter of seconds before the poison could hit him. The fish was in his throat. It was a horrible way to die.

you would have to be out of your mind to eat a whole pufferfish. i only remember it being poisonous from an old episode of the simpsons XD

I learned that they were poisonous from that show. It's a good show to watch. That and other health related shows about parasites, weird addictions, etc. I love shows like that but Alex can't handle them. He gets grossed out and I'm watching intently with a small container of ice cream, smiling like a fool.
i don't watch a whole lot of reality shows, unless they are on and i have nothing else to watch while i wait for something else to come on :P but sometimes they do come up with some interesting stuff :D

Such a cute wolf! Wolf is the last name of the Native American's in my family. I didn't get it since I got my father's last name. My father is German by blood and my mum is Native American and German. I'm mostly German. I can speak a bit of German too. ^_^

that's really cool ^^ wolves are my favourite animals, absolutely adore them. i know it's a bit cliche, but they are awesome XD and that's cool your dad is german. my dad speaks german, he goes over on holiday there a couple of times a year

I know a little bit of German, some Japanese, and a lot of American Sign Language. I want to be fluent in those three plus Latin. Since Latin is a dead language, nothing is changing or adding. It's cool that your dad speaks German, do you know any?

i am completely useless when it comes to language. I did French at school for 6 or 7 years, and remember almost none of it. I did japanese for 2 or 3 years, and also remember very little of it. I just don't have a head for languages at all. except english, i do alright at it! XD always jealous of people who can speak other languages because it just seems impossible to me!

When I was in High School I never took any language class cause all they had available was French and Spanish. I wanted to learn German but they cancelled that class and I refused to take French or Spanish. I wanted to learn what my ancestors spoke. German or Cherokee. My mum has a beginners guide to speaking Cherokee, might grab that and learn some words. Native American languages were technically the first language of America.
I took German in college. Failed it though. He spoke English for day one and after that, all German. We had no idea what he was saying cause he didn't teach us words. We had to learn it all. Not to mention the nouns having 'genders' that was a pain in the rear end. Well, no more talk about horrible classes in languages. Here is a cute picture of a gerbil.

I would have liked to do japanese at school, but in primary we only got french, and you had to do it, but weren't tested on it. then in high school we could choose french or german. i didn't really want to do either of them, but i did french since i already knew some of it. but it didnt really help.
and i think that doing some speaking in the native language is good, but not if they don't teach you the language first. i mean, submersion in a language helps, but only if you know enough to string the sentences together in the first place!

i wish i could get my gerbils to do cute things to take pictures of, but they aren't the most tame. i think i'd need to hand rear them for that to work. i hope to do that when i'm older, or at least, have my own place.

So cute. I want a Chinchilla so bad because I would love to hug them and cuddle them because they're so soft. Back in 2008 when I was on my way to work, I was listening to a talk show and the main guy on it told everyone that his partner had to call off work because her Chinchilla got loose!The next day she explained what happened. Apparently the little thing chewed it's way into a wall and was hiding in the walls. I thought it was so funny. xD
