She was 1 point under next Tier before the boss battle. I checked it before and made sure she still was after the battle was declared over. But she has been in auto-training since. FML.

I don't think you could win a second sword even if you used two different pets.

I don't think T9 was insanely competitive - I did about 760k damage and got the sword. I really have a feeling it's because you switched while in the period between prize distribution and battling. I also cast about here and elsewhere about other battlers in tier 9 and there was no indication that it would be so competitive that you, of all battlers, wouldn't get the top in tier prize.

I entirely forgot that they got the sword for another one of their pets but you're right! No double swords.

I think you can only get the tops of tier prize once maybe? So since other pets got the credit for tops of tier that pet didn't get it.

It's probably the Tier switch after the battle. I'll email tomorrow if a Tier 8 with higher damage doesn't show up. Not true for Tiers 1-8. Tier 9 and up was when you could only get the top weapon with one pet. If they put her in Tier 9 then mystery solved. If she was in Tier 8 where she belonged then the jury is still out.

Updated prize list based on damage, from what I've seen so far. I don't have rankings for top in tier or top overall, but that can get sorted in the other thread.

They likely grabbed tier after the change. And I sort of doubt staff are going to see T8 as being the tier she belonged to if she was only one point off T9 during the battle. Well at least not enough to hand out an extra prize.

It looks like it does not, at least it doesn't say "healer" or whatever underneath it in the armory.

Ah thanks! Sorry, new to this kind of weapons :P Really happy now. I'm just kinda confused about how it works. Item description says that it heals 8%, which would make sense for tier 9, but I just got there and it heals my pet for 10%.

it's okay! once you dabble with them you'll get used to them real quickly xD yeah scaling weapons don't have each tier of the scaling on there, those are the base stats. Skull staff I think it is says it only does 1 phys icon, but none of the tiers do that. it's just how custom-coded weapons work. if an opponent steals the skull staff though, it'll only do 1 icon with it xD
