Sorry, you're too cool for snowballs to melt.

I also want to add that i don't understand the opposition and even sarcasm in response to this idea. How exactly does it detract from your experience if someone else doesn't wish to participate? (I'm pretty sure it actually doesn't.)

Because we already have a shield who deflects 95%-99% of snowballs.

I see it as the equivalent to the hexes. You can use the item who prevents hexes, but it doesn't, and shouldn't, work 100% of the time.

That doesn't actually answer my question. But i'm not trying to argue, just throwing that out there as something to be considered (that if this idea was implemented, i don't see how it would affect anyone else's enjoyment of the site).

You can effectively opt out 100% from hexes by choosing not to trick or treat though. With the random snowball button, you can't avoid them entirely (assuming it can target anyone on the site whether they're throwing them or not). Again, i don't personally want to opt out of anything, but i don't believe it would detract from my experience if some other users did. shrug

Now that snowballs can be thrown randomly I wouldn't object to an opt out button, as long as it also means the opt-outer can't throw them.

No support.

For hexes or

For snowballs

Nowadays with v3 alpha you can hide these items entirely behind a backdrop, so they don't even affect how you look.

Meh, doesn't affect me at all.
I agree if someone wants to opt out of getting splatted 100% they should not have access to throwing snowballs. If you want to forgo the achievement, then a toggle "Snowtapult Yes/NO" could exclude you from the party.
No soggy CWs = no snowballs thrown.

Seems fair.

I personally wouldn't use an opt-out, but I do support the option being added (opt-out = no snowballs thrown at you, but also not being able to throw any), especially seeing as the snowballs can be thrown at random.

I don't see why it can't be added (seeing as the shield isn't the 100% protection from snowballs that (most) players thought it was), or if an opt-out can't be included, simply make the shield 100% instead of 90% or whatever it is now ;)

I agree that if an opt-out is implemented, people who opt our should not be able to use the Snowtapault at all (maybe even be banned from the Emporium).

I support a full and complete opt-out for snowballs, if and only if we also get some sick new achievements and prizes for actually throwing them without auto refreshers.

It's only fair.

The only way I would support this is if you couldn't throw snowballs either.

But honestly, just lighten up. Everyone is too sensitive. There is really no need for this. People take this site entirely too seriously. Its not a permanent fixture to your HA. It goes away after a few minutes. No one is going to look at the snowballed face of someone else's HA and laugh and make fun of them, and forever remember them as the person who's HA had a snowball face.

This is a site where we care for fake animals, and trade fake objects for fake currency and dress up fake dolls in fake clothing. (Yes CSC is basically real money, but you get the point.)

EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR.

The only way I would support an opt out is like others have suggested. You can't just participate in the fun stuff, sorry. I've been hit by exactly 1 random snowball, it's not the biggest deal.

Guys, reminder that even if you don't agree with an idea there are community guidelines. Be nice.

Snowballing (heh) is just one of those things that happens on Subeta during this time of year. You have the opportunity to mostly stop it with the shield, but we want avatars to have snowballs on them, it adds to the atmosphere and makes it feel like luminaire.

it's not that, though. Some people just plain don't like it. Why should we be forced to have to go through something that we just don't like? That doesn't really coincide with the Community Guidelines at all :( I don't like seeing my HA covered in snowballs. Maybe, at least, if we MUST have them, could we choose at least what balls get tossed at us, so that there can be some sort of reconciliation that way? If someone throws a ball either in regular mode or in random mode that isn't part of our snowballs that we have chosen, we won't get hit? Like there'd be a list on the Snowtapult page where we can select what balls can hit us and hit save and it would register in the system that way.

banning from the Emporium doesn't seem fair, as some people like to collect the snowballs lol Does that mean they could throw them at others? Nope.
