Amanda walked in to the Great Hall and went to sit by her friend ().

Looking at the spread on her plate, her mouth started watering. The house elves always did such a great job with feasts, she took a moment to silently thank them for their hard work and then dug in!

Gwen looks around at all the people in the Great Hall. She sighs and goes to sit at her table watching the people in groups. She thinks to herself - "This semester I will make friends."

Her stomach growls - first she thinks of eating though.

"I think I will start with a with and . For my drink I will have a and desert a piece of . With thanks to the Houseevles for this wonderful menu."

Goldy eagerly reviewed the menu for the term's first meal. She finally decided on the salmon, mozzarella sticks, caesar salad, orange juice, and the caramel apple before looking around for familiar faces. She hoped everybody had had a nice break between the semesters.

Rowan comes in a bit nervously, since she's still getting used to all this, and sits besides to friendly (and happily, also new) students who introduce themselves as and (Magnus). She relaxes a bit when they both smile, and drools over the delicious food offered, settling for with , and . She's also looking forward to for dessert.

"Hi," she says to her tablemates. "I'm Rowan, and this is my first real term."

(good thing the pixel food is low cal eh? lol) "'Ullo," Magnus replies after swallowing. "first term for me, but you saw me get sorted so..." the boy is obviously nervous.

Rowan gulps another bite of salad and smiles back. "Yeah, you looked too nice to be a typical Slytherin, Ravenclaw is too packed, and who wants to do more chores, although the Hufflepuffs are sure nice! Wow! That steak is really rare, just the way I like it. Maybe I should have ordered that? Nah, the salmon's really delicious. Want to try a bite?"

Rinoa sat as close as she could to the front of the Ravenclaw table and folded her hands on the table in front of her. "I'd like a and , please."

Oh god almighty you! I'm sliding under my desk with incredible memories flooding through my head. This is exactly how it was first night back...all those years ago. We'd raid our fridges just before leaving for the train and shove everything we could into our trunks, then have amazing feasts after lights out. The laughter would float down the bedroom corridor as we all shared our holiday exploits and shoved food down our throats. I'm wearing the biggest smile right now!
