If I recall, it's been almost a year now since this feature went away -- the ability to see "you have this item" under wishlist items, if you have the item somewhere in your account.

I think last year it was removed because it was causing a strain on the site in some way, I don't remember the details.

Just asking now -- is there any chance this feature could return? In previous years, it was extremely helpful to have during Luminaire. Very nice to be able to browse a friend's wish list, and see which items I have.

Even if it were not on by default -- ie, click a button and see which of the items in the wish list you have. Kind of like the button on the collection pages, that tells you which items you're missing (but the reverse).

could you give a reason at least? So many players found that little feature super useful and handy. I know a lot of players were disappointed that it was taken away

Hi sorry if I repeat what you might have been well aware of, but there is indeed a button (in the shape of a magnifying glass) which you can click under each item in your friend's wishlist to see if you've got that item in your account. It is actually a account search function that will lead you right to account search by opening a new window/ tab, so that you don't have to navigate away from the WL. More work than having the status I suppose, but still a handy feature that might solve your problem :)

Thanks -- yeah, I know about the little magnifying glass. It's not so useful for browsing big wish lists though. With the old feature, I could just CTRL-F and find all the instances of "you have this item" on the page, and know immediately what I could gift!

: Ah, I see what you mean. I must have missed that feature during one of my hiatuses, and it IS sad that something like this cannot be brought back again :'(
