you can bond with every single minion and buy them right away after you bond with them for the first time. I agree with the fact that you need to bond with a thing you will give away to your pet because it won't even be yours, duh But the minions aren't terribly expensive so if you want to get a full discount on it you better get down to bonding with it. It makes sense actually. Love bonds with time.

i like the bonding. it's long but then the minion becomes cheaper and i like cooing action. i think they should all be purchasable for those who can't wait. didn't realize u couldn't buy some of the minions in this shop immediately.

There are some minions that you can't buy after the first bonding. You have to visit them for several days in a row in order to buy them at all, for any price. People are saying that some of them take too many days of bonding to be able to have the option to buy them, especially if it keeps you from bonding with any others. (I don't know how I feel about it since I haven't really used the system yet, but I thought I'd clarify the situation.)

That's a good point about it being our pets who bond with them, not us. Maybe it should be reworded to talk about our pet, like we're bringing our pet there to bond with a minion. Actually, though, I love the idea of having wearable animals that we need to bond with, that's adorable, and I always want more wearable animals :3

Barnankles | Bindi Bite | Blistered Hearts | Boobitis | Butterfly Bruise | Clusterflux | Crack Head | Crystalitis | Death Roe | Doom Bloom | Eau de Ceased | Fevermore | Freckle Fever | Love Bug | Metalmorphosis | Muerte Fuerte | Naked Mole Wrath | Naughty Nip | Pinkie Patch | Sickura | The Vapors | Virus (Classic) | Yggdrakill My HA and I are male.

So that means you need to bond with it to be able to take it. Nice. I don't get why people complain, like, I'm not comparing virtual minions to actual and existant children or animals but if you want to adopt a kid or a animal you need to have some affection with it. Like I said, love bonds with time

I'm in the same boat with people who picked the on the first day and am still bonding with it. Honestly I thought it would be 3 days max

I'm a little upset to learn the is the same way. I didn't want to loose my progress on the first minion when the one I really preferred popped up. But had I known it would take this long to bond with them I definitely would have changed minions

I don't really mind the bonding thing. It's the length of time it takes to bond that is kinda growing on my nerves. Like I stated in my first post, one or two nights is more than enough... Any more than that just seems kinda like pushing it. The sole reason I haven't just said 'screw it' and moved on to another minion, is because I don't want to lose the time I already invested into it.

The bonding idea is cute... Just shorten it a bit.

We're pretty happy with how this is going so far. Some of the minions are available immediately for purchase, and some take longer to bond with. That means that you won't be able to get all of the minions in the shop in a week (or maybe even two), and that's what we intended :).

Yeah, but almost a week for one? Isn't that kinda overkill? I think two to three days would be good enough.

Also, while I have you here, will they all take that long to bond, or will they be random? Like one may take five days and the other only takes two?

I don't mind that the bonding takes a long time, but I kind of wish there was some "intermediate" message to indicate that I'm making some progress. Like maybe on day three, it could turn to a "this pet seems to like you a little more than it did, but it's still very wary. Keep bonding!" or something.

Anything to indicate that it's working, you know?

Please yes. That's the biggest thing that's bothering me. Click bond -> Set alert -> Repeat. Nothing changes and I have no idea how long this is going to go on for. Yeah, someone will probably make a list once we figure out all the bonding times and stuff, but it would be so much better if some sort of status message or hint system was built into the whole bonding system in the first place.

I've been playing Pokemon HeartGold the past few weeks, and their "friendship" system is the perfect example of this:

Quote
Friendship: Statement
250-255: "It looks really happy! It must love you a lot."
200-249: "I get the feeling that it really trusts you."
150-199: "It&;s friendly toward you. It looks sort of happy."
100-149: "It&;s quite cute."
50-99: "You should treat it better. It&;s not used to you."
0-49: "It doesn&;t seem to like you at all. It looks mean."

You never see the actual friendship value, but you can figure out relatively how close you are based on the messages they give you.

^^I like these suggestions by Speiro and Lirikai. I don't mind the bonding component at all and actually think it's kinda fun since it adds to the challenge of getting all the minions from the shop, but it would be nice to have an idea of where I am in the process of bonding with a minion. The friendship system mentioned by Speiro seems like it would work pretty well.

I was bonding with since day 1. I finally got to buy it earlier today for 10k and the little cutie is in my gallery.

What bothers me about bonding is that I have to wait a full 24 hours. Why is this not a "resets at midnight" deal. I hate when things don't reset at midnight. It's either make sure you're here at x time or skip a day so you can bond at a different time, which means it's going to get later and later every day.

While instant gratification is immediately satisfying for the player, it doesn't really make for a good game. Nor is it gratifying in the long term. I think the wait times are fair, but it would be good to know which require bonding ahead of time.

I think it should be mentioned how long it takes to bond with one of them and there should still be the option to just buy those you don't need to bond with.

Baihu This minion has become more comfortable with you. This minion still looks afraid of you. Come back in about 24 hours to bond with it more.

It felt like ages while I was waiting for the Xingyun and I did feel impatient, but now I know how long it takes, it probably won't feel so bad the next time I run into one that requires bonding.

That said, I like the idea of the text changing to give you an indication of how things are going. :)

I think the wait time is a great idea. It encourages setting up a goal and working for the minions you really want first. I get that instant buying is nice, but instant gratification is also really boring. If you got everything immediately when you wanted it, there'd be nothing to work for. It'd also take away what makes this shop unique.

Personally, I look forward to bonding with the minion I want every day and seeing if it's ready to come home yet. I don't mind waiting a long time to get it.

However, I think Lirikai and Speiro's suggestions are fantastic! I would love to see that implemented.

God forbid we have to work for something here.

I think a better critique of this would be: hey, it would be really cool to bond with minions attached to our pets instead of bonding with minions we don't have yet.

Re: the idea that you bonding with the minion is kind of weird, maybe they could change the text so that it's your active pet bonding with the minion? At least that makes a little more sense (and successful bonding doesn't have to mean the minion goes with that pet, just that the minion agrees to join the pet's whole family, so to speak).

Totally agree with the idea of having text progression for bonding!

I'm also very okay with the timeframe necessary. I mean, I've played games where there are log-in prizes that generally culminate in something good after you've checked in for a whole week, so I really don't mind having to wait more than 2-3 days, especially since it's just a click or two daily.

I think the wait time is fine. You can already see the minions popping up in the SS so they'll be deflated in no time. You'll survive without this round of instant gratification.

Progression notifications would be cool I suppose?
