that little icon says,"psst... hey, wanna download windows 10? it's free". :D still haven't upgrade mine. as long as microsoft still provide security update to my OS, i probably never upgrade. hehe. i just don't like programs doing things behind my back. that is also the reason i stop using google chrome.

I downloaded Windows 10 as soon as the option became available. I really liked it starting off, but my laptop kept disconnecting from my home Wifi. It also disconnected from my school's wifi while I was there. I decided to revert back to Windows 8 at the time and no longer had issues being booted off the Wifi.

So overall, I truly liked Windows 10 and was bummed to have to revert back to 8 (although I'm fine with 8, too.) I decided I'd wait until more of the bugs got worked out. I plan on trying to re-install 10 at a future date, perhaps during my winter break so that I won't have college to worry about for a month.

So I actually just switched back to windows after being a Mac user for 2 years. I now own a surface book running windows 10.

There are things on Mac OS that are far superior (like trackpad gestures), but I'm perfectly happy with Windows 10. The look is much cleaner while still offering a decent amount of personalization. I haven't experienced many problems regarding windows 10 itself. Microsoft actually just recently (the past week or two) pushed out the first major update of Windows 10 so if you were having issues before, I would try it out now. Edge is still a mess though. I'm still waiting for it to be 2016 so that extensions are finally introduced.

Short answer - if you're using Windows 7 I wouldn't upgrade. My desktop is running 7 and I don't plan to change that any time soon. However, in my opinion if you're using 8/8.1 I would upgrade to 10 in a heartbeat. (especially on a desktop or laptop without a touchscreen)

Longer answer - I'm a CS student and I work on various OS's on a regular basis. 7 is the most stable and secure at the moment; it also has the least issues with compatibility for most software. I know people who like 8 but I find it to be a mess and even among those people most find 10 to be better. It has it's issues but Microsoft has done a lot to address the problems with 8 and fix them in 10.

Also - don't panic if you don't want to upgrade. You are not going to wake up one morning with Windows 10 unless you chose to upgrade. Really!

So jealous of your surface. Wish I could afford one:D Although I will say my Asus laptop has trackpad gestures!

There were a couple issues the first week, but Microsoft has fixed most of them (still a couple display issues). There are trackpad gestures on this too, but I still feel like Mac has more and better gestures overall. Apple laptops are still known to have the best trackpads and even though I love Windows, I'd have to agree.

The pen itself is something I would never trade away though. I've gone completely digital with my school notes - it's great. :D
