i just looked and saw why admin-only wasn't working (and fixed it), but are you sure it happened with the member-only option? because that should have been working fine.

every single report of that that i've checked out was because the user who wasn't getting pings wasn't an accepted member in the group. which isn't a bug.

it shouldn't (except to admins). i'll fix that in a bit, though, about to take a break!
