I'm curious, will this allow role-players to use their ability in future school-terms or just until the end of this one?

Rose Thorn; Hufflepuff. I'd like to try out for Seer. (:

(On a related note, and just out of curiousity, does anyone know if the Inner-Eye is only passed down through certain blood lines, or can anyone be born with the Inner-Eye? I know Professor Trelawney inherited hers, and I don't think the books go into too much detail on the subject other than that.)

This didn't occur to me, but I think these abilities will making roleplaying even more fun! Metamorphamagus, Part-Veela, Occlumens, and Legilimens, are all interesting to me, but I think I'll have made up my mind which one to try out for even though I haven't decided yet.

{Poppy - Slytherin - Interest list for the above four but will only actually tryout for one if that's alright with you guys}

Your character will have the ability until you retire the character or leave the cult. If you never do those, then you'll have it forever.

Also; More slots will open up as the population of the RP grows, so if you miss out now don't worry, you could potentially get a slot later on.

You know I thought about that question too. In muggles "witch" lines it can be inherit too but it can also change through different generations. That could be true for seers as well. A seer could come from a family where a muggle had witches in the family at some point and have had different abilities as muggles like gut instinct or the ability to read people when meeting them, these could influence the inner-eye of a person. The same can be said about wizard lineage. If you think about it Trewlaney's gran was really good at it, but Trewlaney is not. A character could potentially be a seer, and a strong one at that, even if no one had the ability before.

I am basing this on my personal knowledge of the "supernatural" and people I have met before. not all families are open to inner eye abilities so it can be a lost practice yet one person can be really powerful as well :D

Thank you for answering my question and adding that bit about the growing population. That's good to know that we could apply in future terms.

I need to look through the staff table again. I'm curious to see if some of the new teachers have abilities.

The Slytherin in me is going to address this head-on right here, right now.

I really like this cult. The way its turning though, not as much. I guess now I can understand the limit to special abilities. (So much for making my character one and finding out later I won’t have a snowballs chance in hell.) Yet…now your thinking about trying to make club member limits, really? You really don’t have to limit everything! I don’t think even in the books clubs were limited.

The way I see it, the book is just a base of idea’s while there are many more outside that could possible fit in.

In short:DON’T LIMIT EVERYTHING!
and have been nothing but gracious and classy about creating a nice environment for our cult. Maybe you're used to a rougher crowd, but please note that I think we're all mature adults trying to RP HP in peace here. :D

They're working really hard to not "LIMIT EVERYTHING" and have some amazing plans for the near future. Please, please feel free to send a sMail (it's private) if you'd prefer to address your concerns in an intelligent manner and be taken seriously.

If one of your arguments is "I don’t think even in the books clubs were limited," again please refer to the admins to apply for a Time-Turner. Just kidding, those were all ruined in HP5 but I don't think you're a terribly close reader. :P

Please refer to the Wiki entry and this chart on Mary Sues.

you're ≠ your it's ≠ its idea's ≠ ideas base ≠ basis

The opinions put forth here are all a personal reflection and are not associated with Wizarding or its admins. I just wanted to defend them because I was frankly shocked to see such a small in-cult problem aired on SubetaSpeaks for everyone in general to see. Thanks for doing that though!

P.S. You're potentially scaring away new Wizarding and/or Subeta members. Think before you speak, please.

This closes for the term this Friday. c:

Thank you.

I tried to reply to the SS post in a professional but firm manner, I hope I did that alright. My smail box is always open for suggestions for things for the club, and this goes for negative and positive. I'll try to listen to things from all perspectives. This SS post hurt me for many reasons, but mostly because of just the amount of work Mary and I put into this cult, only to have it ignored because someone didn't agree with one of our rules. I implore our members, that if they have any issues at all, to contact us personally so the members don't get dragged into something that they don't have to be involved in. Thanks again for understanding.

Thanks for defending this! I agree with what you said. That is not the place to air your grievances. If you have suggestions you should handle that with a polite sMail.

hugs Don't let it bother you! You guys are the best, and you both do such a great job. The amount of effort you've put in to this cult is amazing, and it brings joy to a lot of players on here. Haters gonna hate, unfortunately.

How are you planning to hold tryouts? Oh, and how long will someone have to tryout? I'm just afraid of having my tryout be during midterms. D:

Sorry it took so long to answer, I'm currently ill and have been in bed all day!

I'm actually going to be doing the tryouts exclusively, and Mary will be helping judge. But, as long as you're signed up, you WILL get a chance to try out. We won't continue and pick the winners until everyone who has signed up has had a chance (be it one week or one month). We are in no rush to get these done, as it's not something thats very time crucial for the RP! I hope that answered your question.

Another thank you for defending the cult.

Regarding the negative comment I'm not the most active member ever, but I like it here. I haven't RPed anywhere in years, because I became pretty anxious that people would mock me for my writing. I shouldn't have even hesitated. This cult is very supportive.

So I just wanted to add that a A) limited number of people are naturally highly vocal. In addition, B) those who have a negative opinion have greater motivation to voice it. You hardly ever see reviews that express the small positives, e.g. "The receptionist at the dentist's smiled at me" etc. If this cult had a high number of unhappy members, we would likely have far greater numbers of complainers.

In other words, I actually consider only having one person complaining publically to be a sign of the success of the cult. Bloody good show, everyone.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you feel better. Thanks for answering my question. I was so scared I'd log on to subeta and see that I miss my tryout. Midterms are coming in October. D: I want October to start and end as soon as possible.

I think I would like to try out for Animagus, Metamorphmagus, and Part-Veela.

I haven't fully developed my character yet and I think that it could be fun to give it a shot and see which of these I could incorporate into his character.

Are you also taking in consideration the people who have described these abilities in their posts already? (I'm pretty much asking about the Metamorphmagi slots. Since it's not really a trait anyone can pick up later.) Some of the characters are really well written.

Side note: I'm not interested in a Metamorphmagus slot. I'm just curious for other people.
