Hannah took out her wand, raised it and said, "Serpensortia." Out came a black snake . She said, "Fumos" aiming her wand straight to create a smokescreen, but it failed. So she quickly waved her wand and said, "Vipera Evanesca," a fire ball went to the snake and incinerated it. All that was left was a black smoke .

Poppy decides she'd like to gift her fellow Slytherin House prefect .
She reaches for some drab green rags inside a ragbag that Professor Norman holds out while grinning broadly (Santa is so fitting right now!) and puts them on her desk.
Then she raises her wand and swirls it in a delicate spiral above them. "Venustas puras vesteviridi!" Poppy chants out in a slow and melodic tone. She continues the gradual spiraling movement with her wand, knowing that it must outlast even the long sing-song incantation of her spell.
The tears begin to mend and the dirt vanishes slowly from the fabric. Its green color becomes vibrant and begins to glitter.

Thana looked around wide-eyed, marvelling at the creations of others. They were all beautiful, but.. I couldn't ever use a living animal.. she thought, with a slight shake of the head. Not that this is that much better.. she considered, eyes coming to rest upon the set before her. "A little morbid.." she muttered, lifting the skull so that she might meet its blank stare.
Nodding, Thana pointed her wand toward the skull, tongue tripping slightly over words intended to alter the appearance and form of the bone mass. Simultaneously, her pale hand darted and flowed in motion as though conducting an orchestra, settling the wand tip within an empty eye socket. There was a short grinding noise, a puff of sparks, and suddenly the skull was no more. Thana gasped in surprise, watching as the slid down the length of her wand, settling against her fingers. I did not think that would work! She thought, pleased with herself. Tucking away her wand, she located a small box and dropped the ring inside. Now...who would even want this? Thana looked around for someone to give her slightly creepy ring to. She didn't really know anyone, and hence decided at random upon a fellow Slytherin she had observed creating a beautiful sparkling dress.
Thana stepped over to the girl, holding out the box as though it were some sort of shield. "I-..this is nowhere near as pretty or useful as the dress you made, but..you can keep it. If you want. You don't have to." She said with a nervous smile, placing the box on the desk in front of before quickly returning to her own.
As she continues to ponder, Beth grabs some parchment and begins jotting down some of the charms she's read about. Closing her eyes she randomly places her finger down on the parchment and opens them, glancing at the charm her finger is pointing to. She points her wand at the glass rose and murmurs, "co-loh-VA-ree-ah! (Colovaria)" The glass rose instantly changes hues.
Gwen takes a small grey object from a box. It isn’t until it starts to move and squeak that you realize it is a real mouse! She flicks her wand and says a incantation under her breath. Before your eyes the small mouse sits up and starts singing! Gwen has charmed the ordinary mouse to sing Christmas carols!

As the professor dismissed the class to go off in search of objects to charm, Aderyn headed toward a closet at the side of the room that contained miscellaneous items reserved for the purposes of practice. She waited patiently in line behind a few other students and when she finally reached the front of the line, she scanned the objects inside the storage space. Spying an item that looked promising, she swiftly picked it up and carried it back to her desk.
Regarding the ball, Aderyn pursed her lips in thought. When she didn’t come up with any ideas for charms off the bat, she considered who she’d like to give a gift to. Considering who in her life could have used one of late, she decided on Professor Foster. Lately the professor had seemed a bit dispirited, and as Aderyn hated to see anyone less than happy, she decided to charm an object to give to Professor Foster.
Staring at the ball again and thinking about what she knew of the professor, Aderyn had an idea. Closing her eyes, she pictured the end result of what she wanted her charm to produce in her mind’s eye and she centered herself. Raising her wand, she gently tapped the bowling ball three times, and with the third tap she willed it into its new form.
“Pila susum!†Aderyn incanted.
Opening her eyes after casting the spell, she glanced down, squealing excitedly and grinning broadly as she realized her charm had worked.
Pocketing her wand, Aderyn picked up the newly pinked and piggied bowling ball and held it close to examine it for any problem areas or spots where the charm hadn’t stuck. It was easy enough to hold – the charm had lightened it to the weight of a plush toy – and as she turned it over in her hands, she was glad to find no flaws in the magic. She just knew professor Foster would love it, too. After all, the ball was now pink – the professor’s favorite color – and cute, too; it was the ideal cheer-up present. Setting it down, she clapped excitedly and waited patiently for Professor Norman to come over and grade her charm.

Emmy listened intently while Professor Morgan explained what they should do and watched eagerly as he walked around the room and handed out random objects to the waiting students.
"Thank you, sir!" she said, as he placed a small, shiny stone on her desk.
Emmy picked up the gem and turned it over in her hand, examining it. It was fairly small, perhaps the size of a silver sickle, and she pondered what she could do to transform it. She'd always liked gems; her mother was a geologist and worked with many types of rocks, minerals and precious gems, so she had looked a wide array of minerals since she was a kid. Her mind settled on one of her favourite types: opal. That's what she should do! She was going to change this little light blue gem into a stone that looked like opal.
First, she had to enlarge it. "Engorgio!" she said, pointing her wand at the stone, and she watched as it grew several times larger than it had been. She flipped through her charms book, looking for appropriate spells to change it further. Once she had found the spells and performed them, she saw that she had been mostly successful.
Sitting on the desk in front of her now was a larger chunk of stone, roughly the size of her palm, in shades of light blue, with a bit of green and pink mixed in. It wasn't as shiny as real opal, but it was pretty good for her first try, and she was pleased with the result.
