Turokai, House Slytherin reporting. Got my heavy gloves and a strong net, since we can't just toss the gnomes over the hedge into the neighbors yard here. I also brought along a Jarvey to help hunt them. He's an ornery little cuss, but he's got a real nose for gnomes. Fade - Ravenclaw

She supposed this was not a bad first detention considering that she had been itching to see the Forbidden Forest, not to mention all the fun she had during the water fight Peeves started in the Great Hall.

She knew she needed her trustiest waterproof boots (no gnome saliva!), grungy but sturdy jeans, hair tied out of the way, a pair of long leather gloves, goggles and a mask to protect her face, a sturdy work apron borrowed from Professor Morgan, and dirigible plum earrings to distract those ugly mugs. Poppy was glad for the layers because it was the first truly cold day of fall.

In her satchel were worms and the grosser varieties of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans to use as bait. She had been saving up the vomit, earwax, and soap ones in a jar on her nightstand. Her father had served many detentions and he had mentioned that de-gnoming at Hogwarts was particularly nasty. Poppy didn't think the gnomes were cute at all, and she was ready for war. Alexa Bristow, First Year Hufflepuff Alexa's enthusiasm for Potions got her into a bit of trouble...she tripped and broke several phials in the middle of brewing a potion and earned herself a detention cleaning cauldrons...without magic. "Sorry Professor," she would mutter under her breath each time she passed by Professor Mathers' desk.

Megan/Hufflepudd

Megan chose to leave her dear kitty at home while she ventured into the Forest to do her detention but after years of helping her mother in her garden and cleaning the house she felt she had perfected the art of protective gear when cleaning.

Elune is heedful to learn that gnomes have taken residence in the forest, but she is determined to take out a few of them. Having dealt with gnomes in her family's garden, she puts on basic gear: old clothes, gloves, a pouch of tools, and some shin guards. She also is well-aware of gnomes love for Bertie Bott's Every-Flavour Beans and decides to pack her dispenser to lure the gnomes to her. (Also, they come in handy as a snack when one is attacked by an overzealous gnome.) She starts tossing single jelly-beans near the dirigible plums, and the gnomes begin to leak out from their burrows. She lifts one gnome by its leg and spins it around until the gnome is thoroughly dizzy. Then, she tosses it over the forest's border. She watches as the gnome woozily orients itself and stumbles in the opposite direction. She only hopes that the gnomes do not make their way to Hagrid's garden next.

Rose Thorn, Hufflepuff

Although Rose never would have imagined herself in detention, she actually found herself enjoying the Forbidden Forest somewhat. It was dark and cool, mysterious yet beautiful.

The work of de-gnoming though, was much more labor intensive than Rose had thought it would be. She was glad that she had opted to wear some clothes that she didn't mind getting a bit dirty.
