MG has read something like this in one of her numerology books before, she takes a close look and figures out her number!

MG mumbles to herself, what a coincidence, that is my favorite number!

"It looks as though I have to do this assignment", Chook muttered to herself. "Better get it over and done with".

Chook =

3 + 8 + 6 + 6 + 2 = 25

2 + 5 = 7

"There, it's done".

Megan decides to take her results up to the Professor. She lets her new friends know she'll return and grabs her bag and walks to him.

"Professor Nico, my assignment sir," she says handing him the paper.

The paper itself reads as:

Well, they managed to get the professor out of his nap which was a good thing. Mae was suspicious for he simply asked them to do what the other had already decided to work on their own. Really she didn’t have a neat feeling for this class. Anyway she picked up the chart and did the assignment.

“Let’s see: Mae Kerian”

“Looks good. I like the number 5, might be a sign or something.”

Rylee scratched her head as she figured out the calculations.

"6? Huh, that's interesting. I wonder what would happen if we added our middle names."

Looking around at her classmates, Wolf was quite taken aback by this so-called "professor". "This is one of our teachers?!? What on Earth is our Headmistress thinking?!? I think I'd like to see another teacher in his place. Giving stuff to smoke out to students isn't right, either."

It is... very hard to meditate when there's an entire classroom full of people tittering about how Professor Duuuude isn't handling the class correctly. With a sigh, Ceilidh pops an eye open and stares at the little group of ... they're Ravenclaws, right? She thinks she recognizes a couple of people from the other Houses.

And they're adding up their names like.. oh, crudmuffins. Now she wants to do it.

Breathe, Ceidlih, breathe. Magical CPR is probably a thing, right? Get smacked in the chest by the whomping willow, everything will be okay.

She's a ... 6. Alrighty then.

"Uhm, Professor D--Professor?" Yeah, no calling the guy Duuuuude. "What about witches who suffer from Dyscalculia?"

Aderyn was as ready for Arithmancy as she had been for any other class. As she trudged through the grass toward the lake with her classmates, she pulled out her textbook, a roll of parchment, and a quill. She was ready to begin taking notes as soon as the lesson started. As she reached the tree beneath which their professor sat, however, she got the feeling that the class wasn’t going to be run in the same way as her other classes.

Skirting the group of students beginning to gather around the professor, Aderyn, found a spot near the front of the group from where she could easily see the professor. Setting down her book bag, she perched on a large, gnarled root that rose from the ground, balancing her textbook on her lap so that she could unroll her parchment on it lest she need to write. Glancing up as she poised her quill, she listened as their professor began to speak.

Aderyn was quick to realize that she didn’t need her school supplies. As the professor asked them to simply count to ten and meditate, she stowed her book, parchment, and quill away in her bag and glanced around at her classmates. She was hard-wired to listen to those in positions of authority over her, however strange their directions may have been, but as an observer of people, she was also curious as to how her classmates would respond.

All around Aderyn, her peers’ expressions ranged from agreement and determination, to dubiousness, to downright displeasure. She could hear some of the barbed comments some class members were making and she frowned; their professor was unorthodox to say the least and his teaching style might have bordered on story time for preschoolers, but that didn’t give them the right to speak ill of Nico.

Always the silent passive-aggressive, Aderyn chose to show her support for the professor through respect and a following of his instructions. Picking up her book bag, she moved to a spot nearer to the tree that was covered in thick, plush moss and sat down, making herself as comfortable as she could be. Not wanting to miss her next lesson, Aderyn set a quick alarm charm to wake her ten minutes prior to her next class lest she fall asleep in her meditation and then cleared her throat. Counting slowly to ten, taking a leaf out of the professor’s book and punctuating her numbers with slow, deep breaths, she finished the assignment and then lay back on the moss, propping her head on her book bag. Closing her eyes, she ignored the eye rolls and snide comments some classmates made to the effect of what a teacher’s pet or is she serious? and began to mediate in earnest, enjoying the break from the hard work of her other lessons while it lasted. She wasn’t sure whether she wanted to spend a whole semester meditating with a professor who was more like what the muggles called a hippie or not, but she decided to give Nico a chance.
