I'm resizing the picture like crazy. I was playing with shading on the sweater a little but I feel like it's maybe too dark compared to other items on site. (also I suck at cell shading xD)

No worries. :U Are you shading with black or gray as your colour? If so that might contribute to making things look pretty dark. I have my shading layers set at different opacities so I try to get it so it's just the last layer that looks particularly dark.

I just use darker color of the base for shading but sometimes I overkill it with something really dark. I'm trying to make it little lighter now.

Is that the avatar base or the base colours of the sweater?

I'm not sure if the thread is still active, but there used to a board that did in depth critique + advice on CW drawings...if you're iffy about something, it might be worth looking into that to post?
