I actually removed that tab, so you can just see it when you first go to the cash shop instead of having to click into it :) If you click not interested it removes it until the next item comes up ;)

This is something we're doing some targeted a/b tests with at the moment, it isn't rolling out for everyone. Also, apparently the CSS didn't roll out with it for some of you.

This is what it should look like :)

A ping group that most people don't know about. We shouldn't be hiding things like this behind something like cash shop -> hustler -> timed release -> requires joining a group to be told when there is something new. It takes a moment to see the item, decide you don't want it, and click out of it :).
Anyway - we've pushing it out to a bucket of users to find out a few things, including how quickly they remove it, if they hover over the item, if they buy the item, etc. A lot more comes into play than it just being annoying.

He changes daily - I don't think that news or the CS are actually good places for this. News would be spam, basically, and the CS is somewhere that users don't actually look unless they're actually motivated to make a purchase, and then they've already chosen what they're going to buy typically.
The flash sale is meant to be for more spur of the moment type deals and that's why I think this makes more sense (and has resulted in significantly improved hustler sales of at least this item).
As always we appreciate the feedback and we're taking all of the feedback here into account, especially about the buy button and lack of confirmation.

We haven't had any tickets from people saying they accidentally purchased it, so I don't think that's it :)
[edit]
Also, the "buy" button now just takes you to the CS page, so you have to click buy a second time. No more chance of accidental purchases :)!

Because it's a small bar at the top of the page that is easy to X out of. There is only so much space on the news page, and we removed recycle beast / potion from being news posts because they were spammy.
I don't think putting it on the side bar has any effect on people using it, as we've noticed from those two features getting considerably less traffic after we stopped posting about them nightly.
