Ok, redid the CI: left side is change in frame; right side is frame change + cloud change. Which one looks better? Any more changes? Also reshaded the clouds, how's it look now? Should I blend the darker lines in a bit more?
overlay- lots better. worthy of submission, the clouds look way way better but if your having a hard time with the ci..
just use parts of the revamped clouds for the ci..that is if you want to make them look the same. I have done that with more than a few ci's but yes, the ci looks much better as well.
good revamp edit :)
and as anastasia said you can do this, i agree with her 100% :)
Looking better, the clouds are more shapely definitely. :D For the overlay, if anything, i'd just recommend trying to make those furthest two clouds not blend in so much, since they get a bit lost into the colours of the sky. Some of that yellow highlight should help with this.
As for the CI, i'd still recommend some shading on the "canvas" of the frame!
But yup, great edits. :D Gotta see what staff says as well.
I'm a lazy bean, so I've been using the same clouds xD I will just re-highlight it for the CI so it stands out.
Thank you so much for all your help! ^-^
Ahh, they're meant to blend in, but I'll add some more highlights so they don't blend in too much.
And you're right for the CI. I keep forgetting it is so small, so when I reused the clouds from overlay, the highlights and shades didn't show up lol.
Thanks so much for your help! Yeah...definitely worried about staff, but at least now I have a lesser chance of being denied for the things I've fixed :D
No problem! :) I'll take a slot and help you get it on site.
Wow the shape and fabric patterns are really awesome u I don't think you need to redraw it, but I suggest adding a couple more layer of shadow and lighting :)
Thanks so much bby!
I'll ping you later (like later later cause I'm busy with uni) when I've reshaded? ^-^
Oh yeah I would love to see :D Let me know if you need any help at all ^-^
I'm actually quite busy with uni myself lol. Love your HA as usual
i love the shading personally. i would be more inclined to buy it without the fabric draped on the floor in front. im saying that because layering etc. i think its a great concept regardless
@ Anastasia
Thanks doll squish
@ reborn Thank you! Really encouraging ^-^ I'm a lazy bum, so I think I'm just going to reshade this one. You'll definitely see more from me though, so I'll release a layerable skirt sometime in the far future x)
I needs your halp please~

Currently, I have the creases of the skirt, and redid a thin layer of highlighting.
Now...I'm having a hard time shading satin D; Can you help me with this? And where to add more highlights? Clothes are hard, but I really want to release this skirt, haha.
My working file:
Alright hun, let me take a look and get back to you! C:
Okie, no rush! <3
I'll be out for a few hours at a business meeting ^-^

This is just a quick sketch to give you a rough idea, hopefully. I can send you my layers if you want, so you can study them a bit.
Bootiful - Thanks doll!
And if you don't mind, I'd love to study your layers! ^-^
http://sta.sh/019vtivflnkv there you go xD As I said, it's only a rough 5min sketch tho!!!
From what I see in your attempt, the shadows and inner line arts are WAAAYYY too light. Don't be afraid to go dark, thats how you make the item look non-flat.
I don't have a strong sense of lighting yet, so this skirt is definitely making me practice :P
Okie! The darkest gray on my color palette showed up black, so I was like ehhhh. But I will go ahead and go dark! :D
Hmm best way to learn about lighting is to use references. LOTS. OF. REFERENCES :D See how other artists shade with lights and darks in their drawing, though best way (imo) is that take a photo of a piece of scrunched fabric, and use it as a reference to practice.
How come your palette does that???? :o :o :o Don't use the darkest shades of grey. I actually use deep red for the darkest shadows.
However since you are just starting, I suggest using multiply filter. That way the colour overlaps and you don't have to change your brush colour all the time.
Yep. I get the whole perspective, and where light is supposed to hit, but the shadows that the light creates is a bit difficult for me to grasp for now, haha. I tried looking at on-site skirts, but couldn't find one of similar creases in skirt, so asked you for helps <3
Oh, because I was using multiply lol. I'm a lazy bum :P
Aw yeah I get what chu mean c: Reflective lights are tricky, I still haven't mastered it myself xD But yeaaah, everything needs practice, just go one step at a time and take it slow :D You'll be an amazing CW artist in no time.
LOOK AT THAT GORGEOUS BG YOU MADE!!!!!
Multiply is everyone's BFF haha xD
