So sorry for the delay, all. I am working on getting through all of your submissions, I promise!
- 18 Points to Slytherin
Excellent work on the answer to the first question! It sounds like an untapped gold mine to me! For the second question, I felt like you could have expanded a bit more, though I agree completely. I've known wizards to be very attached to their brooms! Maybe this is why.
- 20 Points to Hufflepuff
I particularly love your answer to the first question! I certainly know some wizards who lack good navigational skills. Also excellent point on using wand woods to make enchantments on the broomstick last longer! I'd love to see some testing go into this.
- 20 Points to Hufflepuff
I'd definitely use a broom with all-weather varnish! Sounds like something that could become a standard over time. Exellent points on the wand wood question. You're very right, the broomstick does not choose us!
- 20 Points to Ravenclaw
A more family friendly broomstick would be wonderful! I can't believe no one's thought of this yet. As for the wand wood question, I'm particularly pleased that you considered control over the broom to be more natural. Fluid movement is such a necessity for broomstick handling. It should feel like an extension of yourself!
- 20 Points to Hufflepuff
Hopefully the invisibility enchantment wouldn't be faulty like that car years ago! Sounds like an excellent addition otherwise. I also like the idea that a wand and broomstick could communicate!
- 20 Points for Slytherin
I'd love to see how a hands free wand device would work! Very intruging. Excellent point on broomsticks needing to retain their enchantments over time.
I have some more assignments graded for you today! We have some excellent ideas for broom features. I am confident that the industry of broomstick manufacturing will no doubt only get better from here!
- 17 points to Gryffindor
So to clarify I am understanding correctly, your feature would be an anti-thieving feature of sorts? Sounds handy. As for your answer for the wand wood question, mahogany is indeed a wand wood! Not always, but it is one of the more common wand woods. Purplewood would definitely give a unique look to the broomstick.
- 18 points to Slytherin
A built-in protego charm could be interesting, but would it be allowed in a Quidditch match? It seems like something that would be an unfair advantage and nullify the point of bludgers entirely.
- 20 points for Slytherin
Radar on a broomstick would be a wonderful addition! And you make some excellent points on the wand wood discussion.
- 20 points to Slytherin
Your features sound very helpful in teaching the next generation of Quidditch players!
- 15 points to Ravenclaw
Sign me up for testing in outer space! This sounds excellent! As for your portion on wand woods, you have some excellent supporting information, but I don't once see what your opinion on the matter is.
- 15 points to Hufflepuff
Many brooms already have an anti-jinx precaution in them. How would yours differ from the average broom? You made some excellent points in the wand wood discussion, however!
- 20 points to Slytherin
I can see how flashy additions could set your broomstick apart from the competition! Cruise control and rain guards sound fantastic as well. You made an excellent point on lending broomsticks! I never would have thought of that.
Oh, I understand now! Thank you for clarifying. I will revise your House Points to 20 for this assignment then.
@ Italia - 20 points to Ravenclaw
Nice work, very detailed! I love how many options you envision for one accessory! Good points on the second question as well.
@ Luthien - 20 points to Hufflepuff
Your ideas for the anti-falling charm are good! Nice points on the second as well.
- 20 points to Hufflepuff
So would we literally be communicating with our brooms in this instance? It's an interesting idea! Also I found your answer to the wand wood question very honest and refreshing
- 20 points to Gryffindor
Very helpful! I hope to use the accessory someday! (OOC: OMG A POKEDEX squee) Excellent points for the wand wood question!
- 20 points to Hufflepuff
Nice job! Good point on not having the wand core.
- 18 points to Ravenclaw
Good idea on the adhero spell, however I felt you could have expanded with this. Would it only help the grip with the rider's legs? Or would the hands be involved too? How would a Quidditch player be affected by it? Good job with the second question, though!
- 20 points to Ravenclaw
Anything that gets us to use Obliviate less is good in my book! Nice job with the second question too.
- 11 points to Gryffindor
I felt like you could have expanded a bit with the first question. The second question, however, you only answered the first question with no "why" portion!
- 20 points to Hufflepuff
Excellent idea! I would've never thought of this. Parental controls for broomsticks would be a very wise idea. Excellent points on the second question as well.
- 18 points to Ravenclaw
Very nice job with the extendable-seat spell! I felt you could've expanded a bit with the second question, however.
- 20 points to Gryffindor
Nice job with thinking about pet comfort and portability! Good point on needing to learn to use a broom as well.
- 25 points to Hufflepuff
This was a very well thought-out, well put-together answer to both questions. I'm very impressed. Take an extra 5 points!
Thank you all for handing in your assignments!
- 20 points to Hufflepuff
I take it flying isn't your thing. That's all right, nobody's perfect! Anyway, having music would definitely be nice. And very excellent points. I suppose one would have to weigh the benefits of using wand woods for broomsticks vs. saving them for wands only.
- 20 points to Hufflepuff
Very handy and humorous! I especially like the "spare children" idea. I am pretty sure extendable charms are illegal, but I may be mistaken. Perhaps one day a form of them will be legal and this can become a reality! Good points on the wand wood question as well.
- 20 points to Ravenclaw
Very intriguing ideas! Brings up a lot of questions to mind, but I will refrain for now. Excellent work!
- 15 points to Gryffindor
Sounds quite illegal! I am pretty sure threatening the other team with machine guns would be frowned upon. Good point on using wand woods only on wands, however.
- 20 points to Hufflepuff
An impervious charm would be quite handy! Excellent work.
Great job to all of you! I really hope some of these brooms become reality some day!
- 20 points to Hufflepuff
I really like your ideas! So glad you decided to incorporate accidental damages and losses!
- 20 points to Ravenclaw
Wonderful work, Miss Lapis! This should really help with keeping the statute in tact.
- 20 points for Hufflepuff
I would certainly hope witches and wizards would have the decency to not drink and fly! Though I am sure there are some out there that would. And I'm glad to see someone thought of the bowtruckles.
- 20 points to Ravenclaw
I love the sunburn protection idea! Excellent work! And the idea of using wand wood to bond with the broom to protect from thieves is a great notion.
