: During Chapter 9, I ran into a problem where we reached a limit after about 10,000 words, even after we 'edited'. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but thanks for the tip, I appreciate it.

oh i know, but i also am not sure if it is a glitch or not and am unwilling to risk a warning.

(OOC: yeah I found that if I paste text in it works. But trying to edit after it flipss out. Its such a pain that sometimes it likes us and others it doesnt. But no big! Its hard to tell who knows and all.

Darting through the crossfire from the Adventurers fleet and the Unseelie Armada, Izzy reaches the side of the false dragon ship in record time.

"Once we're there," Pugsy explains, "I'll set off a distractor fer yer. It'll look like a target, so hopefully they'll send a few of those fighter after yer. Won't give yer much time, though."

"It'll be enough," Kelian says firmly.

Larianne picks up Lappy and readies herself. "We need to go with you."

"You need to stay here," Tanaka replies.

"Mistress is right," Lappy argues. "It is in everyone's best interests for us to accompany you."

"Not in ours," Kelian disagrees. "We'd spend too much time looking out for both of you, and it's too dangerous. Stay here where you're safe."

Tanaka has slid over close to Larianne. "True, Girlie, I wouldn't want anything to harm you," he says in a very soft voice.

As she gapes at him in surprise, he slides one long hand around the back of her neck, and gives it a light squeeze. Larianne crumples to the floor.

"She'll be awake in a few," he yells out to Izzy and Pugsy, who are now laughing. "Try to calm her down."

"Neat trick," says Kelian as Lappy scoots out of reach.

"Just a little war of nerves," Tanaka smiles. "I'll teach you when we're out of this."

As soon as the two have departed, a form shimmers out from behind the supply stack and rematerializes.

"I thank you both so very deeply," he tells Izzy and Pugsy.

Lappy rushes out from under the seat cushion. "We must go and quickly. Please, your Highness!"

Delgar scratches his ears. "Of course you must, and I have a premonition she might be needed as well." He slings his longbow tightly across his back, and picks up Larianne as she begins to stir awake. "Lappy, can you jump up and ride on top of her while we jump over? I believe I can manage."

"I'll hold the Vixen really steady," Izzy replies.

"And I got another distractor ready, yer Maj."

"Thank you, ladies. I believe Termina's invisibility cloak will hold until we reach our goal."

Lappy jumps without a trace of pain, and Delgar tightens his grip on both of them as Pugsy shoots the fake ship beacon off. The launch bay opens, two new drones fly out, and Delgar vaults inside the Unseelie mothership.

Larianne comes around with no ill effects except murderous thoughts concerning Tanaka. Tucked under part of Delgar's enchanted cloak and with Lappy trotting along happily beside her, she walks through dozens of slain Unseelie warriors. She and Delgar keep silent, but the trail of bodies leads them quickly to the control room, which Tanaka and Kelian seem to have just reached.

Pale Lightning detaches himself from the living control panel of the ship. Tanaka lifts his arm and the guards surrounding Lightning go down with stars in their throats.

"All yours," he says grimly as Kelian lifts his crossbow and fires.

Lightning laughs aloud as the bolts fly into a suddenly raised shield of ship tissue..

"Really, Caniel?" he sneers at Kelian. "This is all you've got? The ship makes a shield for me out of itself." He laughs again as the ship shudders in pain. "You knew all those turned creatures had to be good for something. We turned the most magical of them into a living ship. It's bound to me, so it can share in witnessing our victory! The Unseelies will rule your whole realm, and the pathetic realm of these lesser creatures. You left the door open for us, so I'll thank you before I kill you. Such a worthless Crown Price; you're a vile blessing."

Lightning lifts a beam gun and fires. Kelian dodges.

"Close in if you can!" Tanaka shouts. "I'll take out that shield!"

"Ah, the Crystanian. Yes, you have been a problem for us. We would have made you into an asset, but you have the damnably honorable soul. Too bad you couldn't have stuck to your honor and saved her."

He holds up a crystal. Inside is an image of a beautiful young girl in a flowing kimono dress, her long dark hair streaming out in the wind. She is flying a tiger kite and laughing."

Tanaka freezes in place, his whole body shaking. "How did you..." he sputters, but Lightning mocks him.

"We know so much you lesser creatures never dream. We've waited a thousand years for this victory, Crystanian. We will have your realm as well, and, maybe I shall whisper what became of her before I kill you--or maybe not."

Under Delgar's cloak, Larianne observes in horror. Tanaka can't be frozen now,, not now. She lifts the small dagger from her belt.

Close your eyes, Girlie. See the target in your mind. Focus, focus.

She has only one throw before Lightning has another shot at Kelian, only one throw...

Relax, Girlie, easy, easy, focus...

Larianne closes her eyes. She focuses as hard and she can, lifts the dagger, and throws.

The crystal in Lightning's hand goes flying. He curses as he sees the small woman who has just slid out of somewhere, but the crystal is down and the image fades.

Tanaka wakes from his stupor instantly and launches into Lightning's shield with his sword. Kelian fires two more bolts in succession, and one hits home.

Lightning staggers, but the bolt doesn't kill him. For a moment, he looks puzzled. "You should have done more damage." Then he laughs the loudest. "I have more power than you!" he shouts triumphantly. "They said Unseelie Princes couldn't defeat Seelie Princes, but the curse was wrong. Crown Prince to Crown Prince, and I win!" He lifts his pistol once more, but then gasps as a golden arrow pierces his chest. He looks down unbelieving as his knees buckle.

Delgar drops Termina's cloak and steps forward. "That's for Sunny. The curse you mocked you earned, Unseelie, and it is a curse on you for all time. Crown Prince to Crown Prince, and as usual, you underestimated the force of pure spirits united."

Tanaka pulls his swords back as the shield shrivels and dies along with Lightning. Larianne bends to retrieve the crystal just as Tanaka grab her hand.

"Thank you," he says.

"That's once," she replies with arched eyebrows.

The whole ship is writhing and pitching now.

"Come on!" Delgar shouts. "It was bound to Lightning and it's breaking up! We've got to get out of here!"

They run through the spasming ruins and vault over to the Vixen as the Adventurer forces take out the remains of the Unseelie armada.

Izzy speeds clear of the shooting debris, and the victors speed home.
