I'm applying concurrently to law programs and grad programs and seeing what acceptances I get. Ideally I would move into legal research for something like mental health, but I'm going to keep my expectations low for now. xD I have 5 courses a term next year and will probably sit in on interesting philosophy and ethics classes. How about you, any long-term plans?

At my university the mandate is 30 units a year split evenly into 2 terms to count as a full-time student. I'll have one 9-unit thesis and another 6-unit one, plus a 3-unit independent study, and then 5 courses that are 3 units each to fill out the rest of the space. So the thesis work is counted as courseload even though it's not a lecture. The theses get split weird across the two terms so it turns out that: T1 - Thesis 1 (4.5), Thesis 2 (3), independent study (3), 2 courses (6) T2 - Thesis 1 (4.5), Thesis 2 (3), 3 courses (9) I'll wind up finishing with 3 extra units because of the weird 9-unit course split, but that's okay since it gives me room to take Forensic Psychology as an elective, which I've wanted for years. :) Germany sounds like an amazing place - I worked with an exchange student from there (I'm in Canada :P) last year and my friend went backpacking through the country last March and said so many great things. Hope something great comes your way!

That sounds so complicated. My school requires everyone to take four classes a semester. If you are working on a thesis then you take three courses in the fall and two courses in the spring. You are writing two theses? You must be so busy! I'm hoping I get into the study abroad program I'm applying to.
