So the function to pay via UltimatePay was closed down quite some time ago by now and I was wondering if there is already a new replacement in the works/condsideration? I am asking because the only way for me to buy CSC is by using PaysafeCards and I'd love to get my hands on some new CSC since I nearly ran out of them by now... :/
there is no replacement yet and at this point I don't have much hope left for that to change anytime soon either.
But... but... how I am supposed to buy csc now? I don't own paypal or mastercard and I don't want either one. I am running out of CSC right at this moment XD So Subeta, do your really want that I spend my shiny new PaySafeCard on something else??? NO, you don't want that so PLEEEEASE bring that button back puppyeyes
I am asking because in the news post about theretirement of the UltimatePay function they said they were going to find a solution for us overseas users: http://subeta.net/news/15762 and I just want to know if they are even still remember writing this - there was also a topic where they asked which options non-american players use to buy CSC to find another way/option as well...
Yeah, same here. I don't dare to spend any more of my last remaining CSC so I can at least use auto train a lil bit longer :/
I'm going to carefully try to phrase this in my best "Not A Jerk" tone, because here, you see, I'm not trying to be a jerk.
If you cannot purchase CSC with money because the overseas options have been removed - and here, I will admit I'm completely unsure why Paypal is an insufficient option, or why a MasterCard would be necessary - have you considered alternate options? Art shops, buying with sP, I don't know.
Again, I live in the US and I'm not sure what restrictions exist for non-US users, but this doesn't appear, to me at least, to be much different than wanting CSC and not having the real money available?
I could do an art shop but I am pretty sure I'd only get rotten tomates thrown at me... The answer why I don't want to use Paypal is simple - I don't want to put down my personal information. Buying a credit cart also costs an extra fee.
I don't think that you are a jerk at all ;) BUT the main point for me is that I don't own a Mastercard (here a Mastercard cost every month money I don't want to spend just so I own a Mastercard which I only need for Subeta... sorry, but no) or paypal (since nearby the same reason as for the Mastercard. I only need it for subeta, I don't use ebay or something else were I would need it, so why do I need it? Moreover for the reason that Paypal is not exactly what I call safe and giving out my date to them... no. I know, there are many opinions about that and that's not the point. ) It's just easy for me, I go in a shop, buy a PaySafeCard and use it on Subeta. Easy, no troubles, everyone is happy.
And I don't get the point, what does this have to do with an Art shop? Sorry I can't draw that well... I can teach you how to ride a horse but selling art... sorry... And I OWN the money, right here, in my hand, that shiny new PaySafeCard wave so I HAVE the money...
Not sure if you guys have it in your country but you can buy Visa cards (kinda like gift cards) and use it as strip. They're usually sold in convince store.
I will give you a Visa gift card if you can teach me to ride a horse. But I can't commute, so... ;)
jumped on it too. I know some parts of Europe don't have access to Visa gift cards, or at least that Visa gift cards can't be used there - we had trouble with that when traveling internationally and all one of my buddies brought was a Visa gift card - but I thought you could at least get MasterCard gift cards internationally? That method shouldn't require any personal information, if it's like buying a MasterCard gift card here in the US, and then you can redeem via Stripe without creating a Stripe account.
I get that it's rough as hell for you guys to have to jump through all these hoops, and I sure wish you didn't have to.
I am nearby sure that we have no Visa gift card in Austria. We have a Visa card, but that's a Creditcard.
I found something about the MasterCard gift cards you said, but I am not enterly sure how this would work. I never heard about that before and I don't know were to buy it. You can't find much about it in the internet too. I will search a bit, but I can't travel ages to a far away shop just to buy such a card were I don't even know if this will work on subeta...
Sorry for pinging but especially with the new aditional 5 pet slots which I'd like to get my hands on (usually sold CSC to get my hands on sP). I'd really LOVE an official statement for the status of future use of PaysafeCards/UltimatePay options in general :)
As far as I know UGC/Paysafe will not be coming back.
Buying a mastercard giftcard is really simple. Just load however much you need on it and then use it to buy the CSC through stripe. I'm not sure if Bluebird by American Express is available overseas, but it's the same concept.
Tip for some people in here who wonder what you can do as alternative
I wasn't able to afford 4Γ’βΒ¬ a month for a visa card but the national post company here had their own mastercard for 12Γ’βΒ¬ a year and you have to recharge it every time. It's like prepaid visa, only you can keep using the same card where visa is a throw away card I think? Mine isn't personal and doesn't have my name on it but the company their name on it = privacy. So check your post offices/different financial institutes.
Last year I had free visa card for a year because the first year was free and it was "cancel any time". I just checked with my bank and they told me i could have a year free, tadaa.
Oh and paypal is super safe, I don't think they ever had an incident. You can link your debit card and then send money from it to the paypal number. Money can't be taken of your card, and your debit card number on it's own is kinda useless as far as I know. And paypal functions over a https link so it's secure. Millions of people use it, it's not something dodgy.

Unfortunately, it's not coming back - they shut down the service.
We've found some piecemeal things between now and then but they're all very "This is a service that works in [insert single country here] for [phone payments/card payments/pick up value cards in the store]" and that means that we have to dedicate engineering time into supporting that one little option. Sadly we haven't found one yet that is as encompassing as PBC was :/

Good to know, Thank you. Now I have to research a bit on those Gift Cards XD I hope I will find out were to buy them.
Thank you very much for replying, Keith. I really hope you'll be able to find another service in the future^^
I hope you don't mind me pinging for it, but I just want to continue to encourage you to look for a similar alternative to PBC. Here in Germany pretty much everyone uses Paysafecards.. also, I've never encountered anyone selling mastercard giftcards here, pretty sure that is only normal to americans (although it might exist as well here, i don't know XD). Paypal is more common, but I don't like using it to be honest. I don't have an account there and so far in pretty much every game I play, I had the option to use an alternative. (Maybe you should look into how Steam and League of Legends offer those payment options? Just a suggestion..)

Steam and LoL are much, much larger than Subeta, and can afford to have staff handle tickets and problems from all of those systems :)

Yes, we have no Visa or Master Card gift cards here in Germany. Only the credit cards named like this which are debit cards. I always use Paypal or Stripe for buying CSC myself. However, often people who know I am playing here gifted me Paysafecards in the past and so I could support Subeta with this additionally amount of money, too. It was nice for the givers, they could buy the card and wrap it up as a gift, much nicer than giving you the money for it. An alternative could be a Mywire Card yet itΓΒ΄s not that well known here.
