hello, it's been a while since I have been an active user and it seems that pet naming has different restraints than it did before (allowing spaces)
I double checked the rules, and all I got was "no inappropriate names" (sexually explicit, swear, etc), and the usual "don't sell names" and "display correct information on profiles"
Can you name pets with unicode names or will they not display correctly(like &2334;) and/or the admins give warnings for such names? Can I name a pet with diacritics in its name?
Basically, what's the character set limitation on pet names? ('A-Z,a-z,space, numbers,-,_'??) Thanks!

No special characters, I believe that includes dashes and stuff so just alphanumerics and spaces (but I think periods are allowed), and names must be 3+ characters long
oh, I just searched the site for names with dashes, seems like dashes and underscores are fine?

Could be, it seemed weird to me that those wouldn't be allowed but I know someone else said recently only alphanumerics and spaces. But yeah, other characters are no longer allowed so even if it would let you name a pet with unicode it would not display correctly
aight, thanks~ just wanted to double check

I'm going to go ahead and add a little note about what you can/can't name your pets tomorrow on the adopt page so EVERYONE KNOWS :D
Yeah, one of the UAs mentioned they got asked about pet naming and then I saw this board and figured YES TIME TO ADD A NOTE TO THE TOP. :) I'm goign to do a few other changes to the adopt, too.
A note on that page would be super helpful, good call.
For the record, you can name a pet anything that isn't a special character (technically speaking, I think you can however it'll break your pet page and will give you a nice black square with a question mark in it for the character in question so I wouldn't recommend it xD), with spaces and underscores and dashes, and you can name pets with a single character or more.
